i remember when this song first came out and as a kid and not knowing any better; i thought then, and for years later that the song was sung by Helen Reddy or Joni Mitchell... only to be shocked to find out YEARS later that it was The Eagles, and they had the bass player (Tim B. Schmidt) sing lead for that song, and not Frey or Henley... timeless song... | |

Bassist Schmidt provided lead vocals (and co-wrote the song with Frey and Don Henley). Schmidt is in the DailyMotion video I posted above. | |
