I don't think she chose the right time (If there really is one) to throw her narcissistic rant. So many things going on, I don't think her drama drama could be of any relevance, now more than ever. She comes across as an annoying child trying to interrupt an adults' conversation to tell that her friend is picking on her, tbh

This.

Although the Swifty vs. Katy Perry beef is the most boring argument in history, I'm still team Swish Swish, bitch.

Swifty wouldn't have a career if she didn't have drama in her life. She'd have no ex-friends or ex-boyfriends to dig and write songs about with Max Martin or Shellback or whothefuckever she works with to deliver her generic shit.

PS although I mentioned Swish Swish, the song is about Kanye actually. (And samples "I'm Too Sexy" from Right Said Fred).

Not my cup of tea and profoundly boring. The lyrics are pretty generic and it's only the chorus that stands out, but it still can't compare to the greatest hits of the decade. I wonder if the video will be as boring cause she's already been accused of copying Beyoncé. What on Earth can a bunch of dancers dressed in black do with this? I need a remedy.

I don't like her, or don't normally like the passive aggressive boyfriend/friend hating way her artistry comes across.

As it is, I like the video and the song fine. It is a reasonable slightly above forgettable pop song.

And let's not forget the obvious Formation comparisons (they have the same director but he denies the similarities).

The video is premiering during the MTV Taylor Swift Awards VMA's tonight.

I am neither a hater or a fan of Ms. Swift. However, she has gotten to an age where her apprantly middle school perspective of social interactions is wearing thin. I know the song is getting a lot of sampling right now but I would be surprised if it has the legs of her major hits. But for her elementary school age fans who have aged into middle school, perhaps this is a bit of heaven.

Real video came out. Seems this song is a satire of sorts.

It's not a very sing-y song. Let's face it, if she didn't have a laundry list of ex-boyfriends and ex-friends, she'd not have a career (kinda like how Will Smith wouldn't have had a music career without the soul music of the 70s). She's written about everyone from Katy Perry to Jake Gyllenhaal, Harry Styles, Kanye West... she's so desperate to be "real" and "down to earth", and she's really just Petty LaBelle.

Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.

It IS that serious! She is the #1 YouTube video clicks star everyone saw it and the news says so. Its a big deal. The news, MTV, EW, they all say it - if they didn't it wouldn't be that serious. Its not like she is employed and dispatched by a behemoth company that is designed to provide mindless entertainment to the prescription drug addled masses to distract them from a decaying social system rife with corruption, inequalities, and hate.

It's childish and it leans a lot on this Daphne Aguilera classic (song at 2:45 in link). Not reductive but familiar.

This is honestly the best comparison anyone has ever made.
