St. Vincent has announced that her new album will be titled MASSEDUCTION.

The follow-up to her 2014 self-titled effort will arrive on October 13.

"MASSEDUCTION is different, it's pretty first person," she explains. "You can't fact-check it, but if you want to know about my life, listen to this record."

The album will feature the previously released single "New York," as well as the new track, "Los Ageless." Both of which are available now for digital download.

She will embark on a North American headlining tour in support of MASSEDUCTION starting November 14 in Detroit.

The little "interview" video clips she's been posting on instagram are really funny. I like her dry sense of humor.. I had read some criticism of the first single, "New York", but I love the simplicity of it and the lyrics. Can't wait for the album and to finally see her live

YES!!! She's a smart girl that's for sure. I dig her a lot, I think her, Grimes and Janelle Monae are definitely one of the brightest, boundary-pushing female musicians of our time. Can't wait for the album too... I dig the direction. I don't care if New York is more synth than her signature fuzzy guitar sound, come to think of it, she's always done baroque-sounding music, like chamber pop-jazz or whatever critics call it.

New song. This is what the fans wanted lol. Nice track, I like the end.

I'm kind of sick to death of her at this point tbh, real overexposure for me.

Love this lady, and the new track is nice but kind of cookie cutter sounding at this point like she sounds like the other indie acts

Nice video, no real songwriting involved in the song. I'm sick of people just adding dense synth and guitar tracks on their choruses in order to make it seem that there would exist the type of intensity that should have been achieved by just writing a decent melody line for it.

It's okay. I can hear it being played in the gay bars, but doesnt reach out and grab me to buy it. I am always up to listen to any electronic album though that looks like they put some effort into it especially the video for Los Angeles.

This is my top album of the year contender for now. I absolutely love it!!

She's a very interesting artist. But it's becoming a bit too cerebral for my taste.
I love her big greasy fuzz guitars and digital distorsions,
but the vocal gimmicks ("oh-oh-oh") start to annoy me a bit.

The eponym album picked my curiosity about her work,
and I must say I'm more attracted to her early albums,
where she was already deploying most of her originalities, that she seems to put on repeat lately.
I'm not saying she's not progressing as a musician, but she's talented to the point I get huge expectations.
Visually, it's impeccable.

I wish her a real reinvention in the future. I hope the next album is a big departure from what she now masters.
Masseduction sounds kinda like "St. Vincent" vol. II.
Which is already much better than the average pop production.
But she laid most of her trademark sound on "Marrow", and it was 2009.



I'm still waiting for a single to beat the sophisticated immediacy of "Cruel",
and I still consider "Strange Mercy" her finest album,
where production ideas don't distract from the quality of the compositions.

That said, gimme Annie Clark any day.
In addition of being smart and having perfect taste,
she has a real artist's ethic, and we all know how rare it is.
Masseduction will probably end on the "Best Albums Of The Year" lists, rightfully so.

I've been worrying about this album ever since she released "New York" as a single, but it was all for nothing. This album has definitely exceeded my expectations, and I actually dig the production quite a bit. This may not be Annie's most intricate album to date, but she sure as hell rocks this kind of modern electro-pop sound with confidence and grace. "New York" has even grown on me quite a bit and sounds great in context of the album.

Love her. I remember seeing her live some years ago in a small club (actually one of the clubs that claim that "The Beatles played here first") next to Reeperbahn, Hamburg, and I was standing right in a spotlight. I swear she noticed me and I still pretend she played for me. Dig the new album, too.

Saw her live this week...beyond stunning!, forget the fact that she performed to a backing track..her voice & guitar was off the bloody chain...played the whole album in sequence too. This was an artistic performance & not juts another gig. Her knowledge of groove is insane.

As for the album..think of it as PJ Harveys Stories form the City album i.e. a commercial concession that gets her a wider audience & crosses over...perfect balance of art & commerce. Suspect she will revert to type on the next album.

Catch her live if you can & just go with it.

Saw her there on Friday, wonderful show. There were a few walkouts mind, if you're looking for a sweaty gig you're in the wrong house. Like Purpleized said, more of an art-gallery piece than a concert.

it was THAT good. Listended to the current & last album together.... stunning. Can only see her srat getting a lot bigger now. Love the fact that she is a purplehead too!!

I know more than one person who was put off her for years because they hated her as support back then. It might have just been a bad night though, obviously Marry Me is a great album.

Wow really??? Hate because of her shows?

Yeah, whatever happened that night (same night but different people who don't know each other) they came away with a bad taste in their mouth about her that lasted for years. They've gotten over it now but it took a while!

Great new CD - it takes a few listens as her sound is very ecclectic

Upon first listen I thought New York was about Prince with the First Avenue mention...makes me think of him

The title track Masseduction is straight up Prince influenced. The guitar solos at the end pure P
