I am not sure but that year she was scheduled to appear at the Grammys and present an award to Luther Vandross I believe. The Grammys said she could come only if she agreed to apologize for the Super Bowl incident and Janet refused. Looking back I think she made the right decision. A decision a person with a back bone and who had dignity could only make. She had already apologized a number of times prior so why did she need to apologize again JUST to present an award? They were just trying to humilate her at that point. MTV black balled her too but she performed at the show in 2009 to tribute her brother. I personally think Janet is right by not associating herself with the industry. Fuq the industry, its shit anyway.

Honestly, this blacklisting of Janet only occured in America. As someone who was born in north Africa, lived most of his life in Europe, some years in the US... Janet is widely considered to be a legend and the original "bad bitch" in the industry. Plus, a lot of the artists that I dig respect her work and are influenced by her music. I'm hoping to see her live in her State of The World Tour... *Fingers crossed* she's probably secretly working on an album. I don't fucking care if radio doesn't play her songs or morning shows don't invite her, by now, she's sort of became a "mythological" figure, a mystical performer who's just too great and unique for words.JT's music is super boring and overproduced lol. He can't sing live, well, at least not as good as his records. Aahhhhh, why can't they just invite Bruno again lol... 24K Magic, That's What I Like, Versace on the Floor, Perm, Chunky... Sounds like a fire setlist.

Well if you truly understood it, you would understand how this is playing a role in why Justin is being considered and allowed to come back and not Janet. Its clear you don't.

And hunny you don't know me either so lets not go there. This conversation is in MY lane so I know what I am talking about so don't even try it, DON'T even try it. I responded to your post because you addressed me. Your giving your opinion and I am giving mine. No need to be a smart ass about it. You always have to be so nasty to me every time you express your opinion. No one said you were anybody's fool.

. Because the org. . Let's not talk about why those fellas get paid what they get paid, let's talk about how fucked up it is her boob ruined her career because of its color and not that ridiculous ring clipped to it. It was not planned, it was a mistake, and she always has a big ol shiny thing clipped onto it. Just another Sunday at the Jacksons where anything can happen. . Maybe Lenny Kravitz could do it this year, sure he isn't really doing any new tunes but he could do it. I liked seeing him on that episode of Better Things, he is familiar. People like him. if it was just a dream, call me a dreamer 2

Agree..no reason to go there with the House Negro business for Jay Z. Particularly when he is now using his platform to address issues like Kalief Browder, Baltimore, Travon Martin (owns the right to the story), black entrepreneurship etc. Now Janet Jackson was the artist entrusted as the headliner, she was the person responsible for making sure the show was up to standards. It definitely wasn’t a wardrobe malfunction and JT did point to her under the bus but she threw her own damn self there by putting a sticker over her nibble and having her designer make a break-away bodice. These are all facts by the way.

Jay Z is a HOUSE Negro (I know this makes some of you uncomfortable but its the truth)
Based on some of these ignorant comments in this thread its clear most here have not a clue on how white supremacy and racism operates in the industry and its probably because most of you don't experience it in your daily lives. Everytime this Super Bowl scandal comes up with Janet, everyone runs in here and makes excuses for that white man, who didn't experience any consequences for his role in the SAME performance as Janet who had her career ruined.
Its pathetic, ITS PATHETIC, yea I said it. Its disgusting people here act like racism doesn't exist in the industry, when it does. The industry was literally built off of racism and we have many examples of that. Jay Z doesn't give a damn about Black people and doesn't do anything for Black people (we don't claim his tap dancing ass), him headlining this tour with this culture vulture is more proof of his fakeness. mjscarousal said: If Justin Timberlake steps on that Super Bowl stage AGAIN after Janet was blackballed in 2004, NO ONE cannot tell me that the blacklisting of Janet JACKSON did not have anything to with racism, being a Jackson and a woman. The fact that he is being considered proves that. I find it TOTALLY disrespectful and disgusting that Justin Timberlake would EVEN agree to perform AFTER the way NFL treated Janet AND especially when HE was the one that tore of her shirt and exposed her breast. He was just as MUCH as apart of that performance as Janet and he did NOT receive NO backlash. Justin is a FAKE and a fraud but I don't expect nothing less from the new age white golden boy aka 2017 Elvis. He is White so he has the skin complesion for the protection despite being mediocre. Jay Z tap dancing HOUSE NEGRO ass ain't no better and if he was really "about that life" he would not be apart of this knowing how the NFL treated Janet compared to Justin. BOTH of them are frauds, JOKES and establishment pawns so I am not surprised if this is true. They are both going to continue to do this despite the way NFL treated Janet? None of them obviously have any dignity and self respct and Jay Z's faux deep rhetoric is just fake marketing bullshit.Fuq them and fuq the NFL. I will NOT be watching. I am proud to say I have not watched a half time performance since Prince performed, God rest his soul. The NFL like many have said in that other thread is DONE. They always choose the same boring ass people to perform due to under the table politics. They act like only 5 performers exist. They could ask Rihanna, Pink, Bieber, Taylor etc or anybody else who hasn't done it yet. [Edited 8/24/17 18:05pm] I definitely agree with you, and it is sad that Janet was treated this way, and I remember that during that time when Michael was going through his situation, he said, "It's pick on the Jacksons week," but she definitely didn't deserve the treatment she received, if it was done purposely or by accident, and I was very upset that Justin was invited to the Grammys that year, and she wasn't; but it is obvious to me now that the FCC and CBS wanted to make this incident an example of what was to come in television viewing. - Yes, he's always been about making money - Let me also add that in times past, he's mentioned his respect for fellow artist like Nas, Talib Kweli and the like for their speaking truth to power. I've always had the impression that he always wanted to jump into that arena more but was compelled by his own greed and focused on building his wealth. - I think the little stuff he's done with 4:44 is because he probably feels like he's established himself enough, so if the establishment turns on him for speaking out too much, he can weather the storm. Also you have to factor in that its actually trending now to be "unapologetically black." - [Edited 9/21/17 8:17am]
