Madonna was in her stride here, I am close to saying its my favourite all time Madonna studio album, but the 80s pop sensibility in me is giving that honour to True Blue and Like a Prayer, but Erotica is a close 3rd. I say studio album as nothing can top the Immaculate Collection, which in my opinion is immacultae. I see that brunette picture of Madonna with puffed up lips and a smoke and I am in heaven.

The first Madonna album I bought (heard all her previous LPs via my older sister). Man, what a backlash this album produced! Still, a great piece of work. Well done Maddy.

I know a lot like her Confessions tour but this is my favorite Madonna tour, this is my favorite Madonna era in general.

It's decent, but just not as good as others. The song about her pussy sounds good, but the lyrics put me off "Where life begins"

Agree, that and Deeper And Deeper.

It was nice when Madonna could surprise us with a good POP tune and concept. Those days seem to be gone. She's tried the overt sexuality, perhaps she should try implying sexuality? Create more interest? Now she seems rehashing and not in a good way.

Erotica is a fun album.

Underrated piece for sure! It's much more raw than Bedtime Stories, which I remember was more popular at the time. It's too bad the controversies overshadowed the underrated content of this album and some of the fine video work to have come out of this era, so nice to see it get its due

Songs like Words, Why's It So Hard were so powerful listening to growing up. And tracks like Rain, Bad Girl, Where Life Begins are so musically stunning.

Madonna has said that she regrets releasing the Sex book around the same time as the album.The book seems to gotten more attention.She probably should have released the album first,then release the book a few months later.
