Expertly catching the mood of the late-‘90s upon its release in September 1997, The Verve’s third studio outing went on to become one of the all-time classic British albums. Eleven times platinum in the UK and with ten million copies sold worldwide to date, it also delivered four of the era’s most iconic tracks – ‘Bitter Sweet Symphony’, ‘The Drugs Don’t Work’, ‘Lucky Man’ and ‘Sonnet’. Now, exactly twenty years on, comes this Super Deluxe expanded edition, containing a host of special features. Re-mastering was undertaken by original co-producer Chris Potter and this 5CD / 1DVD box adds all of the era’s B-sides, the previously unreleased Haigh Hall concert plus further live material and BBC sessions from 1997-1998. The DVD features the full Haigh Hall concert, the ‘The Video 96-98’ documentary, a ‘Later With Jools Holland’ appearance from November 1997 plus the promo videos. There’s also a poster, a set of 4 postcards and a 56-page hardcover book including new interviews with the band and a vast selection of unseen photographs by Chris Floyd, who travelled with the band and was granted unprecedented backstage and offstage access.

A Boy From Tupelo: The Complete 1953-1955 Recordings You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton | |

Put together by esteemed writer-producer Norman Whitfield, the Undisputed Truth were one of Motown’s flagship acts in the early-mid 70s, with 15 R&B chart hits – including their near chart-topper ‘Smiling Faces Sometimes’ and the original version of ‘Papa Was A Rolling Stone’ – and a string of best-selling albums. Surprisingly, only one of the original four Motown albums by the group’s classic one-guy-two-girl trio has ever been reissued on CD until now. Generally regarded by fans as the group’s best, it’s a pleasure to finally have these albums available digitally, as they were originally heard. “Nothing But The Truth” features the group’s eponymous debut plus their “Down To Earth” and “Law Of The Land” albums in their entirety and as originally issued by US Motown. It also features a generous selection of non-album A and B sides, previously un-reissued alternate single mixes and edits plus other rarities from UT’s golden era. With typically extensive annotation and illustration throughout, the sleeve note is based around a new interview with Joe Harris, the group’s featured male lead throughout its Motown tenure. Kent’s latest addition to its ever-growing Motown range will definitely win the approval of the many Motown completists who have been clamouring for the reissue of these albums on CD for many, many years.
