Cat People vs. Cat People

which do you prefer:

a) David Bowie's song Cat People (Putting Out Fire) as produced by Giorgio Moroder for the film Cat People?

or

b) David Bowie's song Cat People (Putting Out Fire) as produced by Nile Rodgers for the album Let's Dance?

I thought about the movies
1st version by Jacques Tourneur is a chef d'oeuvre
2 nd version (with the D Bowie's song) with Nastassia Kinski is good

The original Cat People film is fantastic, the remake is HORRIBLE. David Bowie's version of the tune is a little overwrought...

Bowie's version of the tune? it's his tune... who else has a version?

but anyway, back on topic...

Bowie's '82 version from the movie or the '83 version from the album?

The Let's Dance version

He turned a great song into weak album filler on Let's Dance, IMO.

The soundtrack version has so much more emotion and seems to fit the song so much better. The "Let's Dance" version is entertaining, and I enjoy it, but it doesn't have anything on the soundtrack version, IMO.

The Let's Dance album sucks, so i'd go for the soundtrack version.

BUT HEY - there's the SRV solo. That's all that I like about the album version... the Soundtrack version is SOO much more moody.

That, and I got some to that song.
