Faith is one of the absolute few PERFECT pop albums. Not just the album, but the videos, the whole aesthetic that George had going in '87-89

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

GREAT album which has, indeed, stood the test of time. sounds as impressive today as it did.. 30 years ago..! . for me, of course, the highlight is - & has ALWAYS been FATHER FIGURE. . for some strange reason, it took me a long time - I mean, years - to like/appreciate the title track! I'll see you tonight..

George Michael's site has just updated with a message from his sisters: Hello Everyone, Melanie & Yioda here, just wanted to say a few words… Our family, and good friends, are all still struggling with the reality that our beautiful Yog is no longer here with us, although we still feel his love. We hope that, as private a family as we have always been (and will remain), that you know we hear you, through your amazing and thoughtful messages and that you understand our loss, as we try to understand yours. We believe that through all the “debris”, Yogs fans, his ‘lovelies’ all around the world, know who he truly was, and is, after shared decades of music, love, and humour. Our aim is to carry on, as we know Yog would have wanted, to share and enjoy his precious legacy and to continue to bring you joy – through his extraordinarily beautiful music. David, along with Yogs loyal creative team, will continue bringing you all the projects they had been working so hard on for you, exactly as Yog would have wanted… We promise we will always try to honour him by staying true to his ambitions and his intentions. We thank you all for your really fantastic loyal support which has been genuinely appreciated, it has helped us all so much. Jack, Yioda, Melanie & David …and Yog, Lesley & Anselmo… smiling down, and all together… Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.

Single Debuting Thursday 9/6/2017 by Zane Warman EMAIL ME Evert Elzinga/AFP/Getty Images George Michael performs during a concert in Amsterdam on June 26, 2007. Nile Rogers implied the song was going to be his remix of the Faith-era track "Fantasy." Eight months after his death, a new track from George Michael is set to premiere Thursday (Sept. 7) on BBC Radio 2. Although not formally confirmed, Nile Rogers appeared to imply on Twitter that the song was going to be his remix of the Faith-era track "Fantasy." Rogers took part in an documentary on Michael before the pop star's unexpected death on Christmas Day 2016, and had played the remix while on tour with Chic this summer. READ MORE Watch Adam Lambert Honor George Michael at Project Angel Food Gala With 'Faith' In a statement posted on his website, Michael's sisters reassured fans that Michael's creative team at Sony Records "will continue bringing you all the projects they had been working so hard on for you, exactly as Yog would have wanted." Between his planned 2017 release, songs kept in limbo during Michael's legal battles in the '90s and the false starts at following up 2004's Patience, an estimated three albums's worth of material has been left unsurfaced. These, along with known collaborations with Rogers and producer Naughty Boy, still have no release date. Just Music-No Categories-Enjoy It!

One of my favorite albums, it's a classic. But I never understood why the deluxe version didn't include the 7" or 12" of IWYS. Does anybody know what's up with the single version, it wasn't on any compilation as well (I think it's only available on the Beverly Hills Cop soundtrack)?

Probably, but it's not like the single version isn't part of the album version.. It's just weird to see Part 2 on a hits compilation.

Despite looking like the absolute popstar he was he never lost the element to him that he was just your mate George from down the road who is doing very well at the singing right now.

Yeah, definitely. Many of us shared a kinship with him, even though we never knew him at all or even met him. And man.... his death came out of nowhere. What a shock.

I consider it as a Holy Grail in my collection.
When I was 17, I was after four years of affair with Wham! and George. I dreamed to have 'Faith' vinyl though I didn't own a gramophone. But my momma bought me used copy and you can't even imagine what I felt while I was holding this record with the monumental cover. I know some of people call it stupid Old Spice commercial with George sniffing his armpit. But for me... it was the God himself drowned in black leather with sun in his hair, perfect face with the gold cross hanging from his ear. Majestic view. And how he redefined himself with this album. He grew up so beautiful, in a bloom-y, butterfly kinda way. 'Father Figure' is such a sensual thing and some critics said he 'isn't Marvin Gaye' suggesting he's lacking soul. To me it's such erotic song my glasses get steamy everytime I hear it. 'I Want Your Sex' with its clear Prince influences is such a perfect pop/funk song. 'One More Try' is so heart-breaking and dramatic without sounding corny and it's one of the best George's vocal performances on the record right beside 'Kissing a Fool' where his voice is just angelic, stuffing my ears with Raffaello pralines. This dude right here was out of this world. Too bad they missed him so much he had to come back home too early. My fondest childhood/teenage memory. My cutest admiration. My most innocent affection. One of the strongest platonic loves of my early life. My best music teacher.
