If she's working for that many hours, it's probably on a routine she hasn't performed onstage before eg. Damn Baby I remember reading she practiced 5 days straight for hours for the All For You video choreography |

Her stage show is heavily choreographed, and of course some key iconic routines are shown, but yeah, she would be practicing a bunch of new moves.
Her last tour was all of her songs on the ICON double CD, plus new songs from Unbreakable.
I don't have tickets this time around, but she stopped in my city last time, and my partner and I got front row! |

So is that first date bring moved due to Hurricanes in Louisana? Nick Ashford was someone I greatly admired, had the honor of knowing, and was the real-life inspiration for Cowboy Curtis' hair. RIP Nick. - Pee Wee Herman |

I don't know how to embed instagram posts here but she did start promoting for the tour. There are some teasers on her instagram page.

She looks good
I am very excited about going to the tour. It looks like it has a cohesive theme this time. Its giving me Rhythm Nation/Velvet Robe nostalgia.

I think I'm most interested in seeing these highlighted songs performed. Looks like someone has been paying attention to their chatter on social media. Island Life was always a no brainer (for me at least) and should have been a single back then. While everyone was stuck on R. Kelly's remix of "Anytime, Anyplace," My CD player was still stuck on repeat with, "The Body That Loves You." Easily one of her best sensual joints. And those harmonies are to die for. It would be sooo cool if Chuck D actually came out on a couple of dates and performed with her live. Houston would be a good start. NYC would be a given.
-
I hope there's new life breathed into the familiar tunes she's done consistently. I think this is a smart move for her at this juncture in her career btw. This tour will hopefully remind and introduce the general public that Janet has a brain, not just a fine booty.

I watched on instagram and live feeds of the concert. This is the best tour/concert that we have had in a while. The tour opener is powerful, especially when you have racism, police brutality, white nationalists, poverty, etc all right now. I am glad she came out with the Knowledge after that.
Everything about this tour is perfection, the clothes the set list, and that powerful opener lives up to the title of the tour. Its a tour that is really needed for this generation because there are no pop stars of today that are socially conscious nor politcal and this tour really tribues RN/VR and she even sung some underrated gems.... damn I was talking like I was actually there! I could hardly sleep last night. I am SO proud of Janet!!! I CANNOT WAIT TO SEE THIS LIVE! I just wish she had not taken out Scream. Her body is EVERYHING too! |

Yes. And >>. She should have done Black Eagle already on the Unbreakable tour, given how prominent that one is in the show.

Yup. I'm glad some of the other gems from her catalog are getting some shine. Would love to hear her perform, "Lonely" live. I loving the theme and message. People should come out inspired after the show. I'm looking forward to seeing what she has under her sleeve for Houston. I know she mentioned arriving early to help the survivors of Harvey. I wonder if she'll also do a live feed from her concert for the telethon that everyone seems to be jumping on board for.... |

Janet Jackson to meet with victims, donate Saturday night's Houston concert proceeds to Hurricane Harvey relief
PRNewsfoto/Live Nation Entertainment
Janet Jackson just promised something special for Hurricane Harvey victims when she arrived in Houston Friday for a weekend concert. Now, she's keeping her word.
Janet, her brother Randy Jackson, her band, and her dancers will be at the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston today at 2 p.m. to meet with victims who've been evacuated from their homes and taken refuge there. She'll also meet with evacuees who are being housed at the city's NRG stadium.
Janet's first concert in the area will take place Saturday night at the Toyota Center in downtown Houston, and she plans to donate all proceeds from the show to local flood relief charities.
Houston's the second stop on Janet's State of the World Tour, which kicked off Thursday night in Louisiana. The setlist included plenty of new material, as well as number of medleys -- rather than full versions -- of the star's long string of hits, including "Miss You Much," "Control," "What Have You Done for Me Lately," "Alright," "All for You" and "When I Think of You."

It speaks to the epic and legendary nature of her catalogue that we can all pick outstanding favourites for her to perform and she will never be able to get to all of them. I think this setlist is perfect because it balances the needs for hits (general public) with the obscure album tracks that only fans will know. |

Yes there are some remixed and reimagined versions, e.g. one song is mixed with Aaliyah's Rock The Boat. |
