i've seen the video, and it'd only offend those who get easily offended. it ain't that bad...i honestly don't see why madonna wants 2 pull the plug on the whole thing.

You know,I don't really think the video is all that offensive either. The only real controversial scene is the ending where she throws a hand grenade to George W. Bush, and even that scene is done with humor and irony...lol...the rest of the video isn't particularly violent and nobody gets killed or anything.

I just saw a commercial on VH1 about the new video. It premieres this Wednesday at 10 PM as part of their "Madonna Speaks" special. They will be interviewing Madonna and then they will have the world premiere of the video. This is the newly re-edited video.

There is a bright side to all this. Now we have *two* new Madonna videos to enjoy...lol...

I've always loved madonna since day one, but since this whole war begin and this american life controversy started, I kinda lost a lil bit of respect for her, in a sense that I'm beginning to think people are loosing their tru voices by letting there selves be intimindated by the masses mad

Even Madonna can't beat city hall (well national hall, I guess). In a few years, people will be ashamed that they were intimated by the government like this and hopefully we we will wise up and have the person that we voted into office running things (and I really hope its a democract). Susan Surandon is one thing but when Madonna has to edit her video...

I just hope that real people don't start loosing their jobs due to their poltical views. And if so, I don't think it will help if they go to the Bush's Sumpreme court to defend themseleves. Scary stuff!

No one is making her edit the video. Madonna pulled it herself, and is editing it herself.

Think about it. Madonna has been the most famous woman in the world going on 20 years now. She's weathered worse storms than any flap over an anti-war video. No amount of backlash could be worse than she got in late 92/early 93 over the Sex book.

I really don't think she's intimidated. I think that she's an intelligent woman who knows how to push buttons. But she knows when not to push them. For instance, when there are serious things going on in the world, she knows not to put out some dumbass video that turns war and anti-war statements into pop culture; which from all of her comments on what the SONG is actually about, is exactly the kind of thing that she's against.
