You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

The music is great and his vocal performance is just beautiful, i wish the lyrics were better.

There are times (basically, when it's playing) when I think is Stevie's greatest song.

Maybe my least favorite song on the album... Of course, that's not saying much when they're all fantastic. Innervisions is utter perfection. "Whitney was purely and simply one of a kind." ~ Clive Davis

I love how that beautiful choir at the end of Livin For The City segues into Golden Lady. Sounds georgeous beyond words can express.

It's a very coherent album (unlike Talking Book, which is more of a "songs" album), and no one track really stands out to me. But I do think "Golden Lady" is probably my favorite song on this masterful record.

Hmm, we seem to be almost polar opposites 1. Don't You Worry 'Bout a Thing 2. Jesus Children of America 3. He's Misstra Know It All 4. Living for the City 5. Visions 6. All in Love Is Fair 7. Higher Ground 8. Too High 9. Golden Lady But I love "Golden Lady" so it's just splitting hairs. "Whitney was purely and simply one of a kind." ~ Clive Davis
