There seems to be a sample of an old soul song in that 1st video, but I can't put my finger on it.

Well, these songs are quite refreshing. No auto-tune, no quick talk-singing, no cameos from mumble-mouth rappers....just pure R&B. YES. I'll definitely be checking out this double album.

couldn't watch the first vid at first but went directly to you tube instead of the link. the songs (the sound cloud linked one at the bottom included) were just ok. they felt like double album filler, nothing memorable at all. doesn't bode well to "lead" with these tracks IMO

I'm not even a huge fan,but the way you described his album makes me want to hear it Don't know why so many R&B artists jump on the hip-hop bandwagon.I'd rather hear a pure R&B album without all that hip-hop nonsense.

I saw him in late 2014 as part of a festival, which wasn't too long after he changed his name and he was still billed as Musiq Soulchild. But his performance wasn't very good because he didn't like the sound and he was slightly irritated by that.

Yea I saw him over the summer this year too. He sounds good live but he doesn't have much stage prescence but he does have a good catalog that is fun to sing a long too.
