The interveiw aired last month.

Thanks, would not have known since I don't do Steve Harvey's talk show.

It's a miracle that he can still sing and still hit high notes. Not to mention that he sounds damn near exactly the same as he did over 20 years ago lol

True, it is rare for most artist to not loose some of their vocal skills as they age. I also think Charlie Wilson and Jeffrey Osborn just to name a few pretty much sound the same as well.

It seems women are more likely to fall harder as far as loosing their vocals as they age.

In the Storm is my absolute fav. One of the best albums that most DON'T own!

If I had to rank them, I'd do it by how much/little producer input El had. All are good albums in their own right...El's singing is always top notch on his recordings IMHO

1. In the Storm
2. Heart, Mind, Soul
3. Gemini
4. El DeBarge (eponymous)
5. Second Chance

As for El putting out new stuff anytime soon, I'll believe it when I hear it. He's literally been saying that for 5+ years now. I wait in hope tho....

Lord knows I love some El DeBarge! I own all of his solo albums. I really can't say that there's anything memorable about any of them. As a solo artist, he had really poor promotion and very little radio support. I'm sure the drug addiction only complicated matters.

El, at his best and most involved on a solo project, is a bit too eccentric for large mainstream success. He's more of a connoisseur's delight than any kind of pop star. The closest he came to pop was w/ DeBarge and even then their 1st 3 albums were pure RnB.

I agree.I also think he needed someone like Quincy Jones or Jam and Lewis to produce an album for him....to take his solo career to the next level.

El Debarge recently did a great tribute to the late George Michael on the BET Awards 2017

After reading his brother Tommy's book.....their family went thru hell. I'm so glad that El is still with us. Their father makes Joe Jackson look like a saint. After reading that book, I actually forgave them for taking drugs. I was like, if ya'll have to take drugs to function, after all you guys have been through.....do what you have to do to survive. Their dad was a monster. And their mom was a weak bitch for letting that man rape and beat her children while she continued to procreate with him. I wish El and his siblings all the best.

Pull ya cell phone out and call yo next of kin...we 'bout to get funky......2,3 come on ya'll

I agree, El had a rough life and its a miracle he is still alive and kicking. I wish his family all the best as well.

nod He sure did. I loved how he put his own little spin on it too. For that man to still have such a beautiful voice after everything he's been through is something else.

I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.
