but she had reason to be as some others already mentioned RD you def should check out her intreviews,,very upfront,,that woman have speak with honesty I have neva seen in any person, it ain't even funny. I've alwaysed thought that her tells-it-like it is attitude will get her killed. Glad that she's alive! Tracy Chapman
I'm no fan of her music but she look very peaceful 2 me. I always think that Mary J Blige is the ANGRIEST lady in the Hip-Hop/RnB world but of course this sistah tells the truth everytime she speak up too!

No doubt--she is very outspoken on civil rights matters even when everyone forgot about them way back when and she will publicly damn a government etc with extreme prejudice if need be..and she will berate an audience or audience member if need be too She gets no credit and is very underrated or lets say overlooked by the "GENERAL" population who don't know..but fuck those who "dont know" anyways hehe Tracy Chapman

oh Tracy is angry..don't let that peace vibe fool ya..she's as angry as Nina etc in many ways..she is just acoustic with her anger so to speak I always think that Mary J Blige is the ANGRIEST lady in the Hip-Hop/RnB world but of course this sistah tells the truth everytime she speak up too!
yeah shes angry or at least used to be but it was anger stemmed from personal demons-situations etc rather than global wrongdoings etc. Yet her anger was caused from what Nina and Chapman were angry and vocal about. "Climb in my fur."

Dang, I've been searching through this damn net trying 2 get me so interview 4 so long and I still didn't fine me none.

Ani DiFranco and Meshell Ndegéocello. Not only do these women leave their peers (yeah, right) in the dust in so many ways, when they're angry you FEEL IT and you don't forget it. This post not for the wimp contingent. All whiny wusses avert your eyes.

Good point, Supernova. I was just about to say, we all got an angry side. And these women create powerful music, sometimes angry, sometimes beautiful, sometimes both.

JaneyPoos said: I have never seen or heard of her before but shes scary There was a Details magazine article a few years back that rated her as having a wider vocal range than both Prince and Mariah Carey...she's got some amazing pipes. I'd recommend "The Singer" if yer curious, as it's a collection of covers and blues standards. Just make sure all the lights are on, mmmkay.
