then again u can sign me up for anything Sly related
I'd like to hear it all--good and bad. I was thrilled when George Clinton released his 3 CD set a couple of years ago. Although I don't care for all of it, there was enough good material on the set to make it worth the purchase.

Exactly.

I wonder if the track If I Didn't Love You from that Funkadelic album was part of Sly's unreleased collection . It seems George is the only person he trusts with his music now.
Michael bought the rights to Sly Stones cataloge. I wonder does his estate still own those rights.
Thank you for posting this. From what I hear in the video, Michael(Mijac publishing) still owns Sly's cataloge. IMO, Sly was correct when he said that if Michael was still alive, he would sell or give his cataloge back. Michael bought Little Richard's cataloge and sold it back to him for 1 cent. In other words, Little Richard had lost his cataloge, Michael purchased it and returned or gave it back to Little Richard.Michael was a shrewd businessman with a lot of heart. Just one more reason that his fans love him so much. [Edited 7/8/17 8:06am]
https://www.theguardian.com/music/2009/aug/18/sly-stone-living-on-welfare . "The trailer also claims that Stone had been working with Michael Jackson, and that the King of Pop had commissioned the 66-year-old to write songs for his new album. Stone apparently hoped that this would solve his financial woes." . This is interesting
The thought of this happening gave me goosebumps!!

Agree.
.
Didn't Michael try to give it back previously and Sly denied? I think i read that somehwere.

OrangeClock said: I sorta feel the same way.I'd be more interested in hearing some unreleased material from the early 70s (if there are any). [Edited 7/5/17 17:16pm]
I pray for some outtakes from the late 60's and early to mid 70's. I haven't listened to the complete Fresh album alternate version.
If You Want Me To Stay and Babies Making Babies are imo superior. . The rest is an interesting listen but imo Sly made the right call changing it.
I find it very hard to choose a favourite version with the exception of If You Want me To Stay and If It Were Left Up To me (which sounds to my ears like an unmixed version of the Little Sister track it initially was) where I prefer the non-alternate versions. Both versions are worth having though.

I haven't got the chance to listen this, but to me the alternate Skin I'm In version is better. What about the great Thankful and Thoughtful?
The other alternatives that i find really interesting are Let Me Have It All, Frisky and I Don't Know (Satisfaction). They all are imo close to the originals.

Thankful, what it sounds like, i mean the alternative version?

It's a little more stipped down.

No funk box, less backing vocals and guitar, while now the drumming and fender rhodes are more upfront.
Now I'm having a flashback to an unreleased version of 'Hot Fun In The Summertime' by MJ featuring Jesse Johnson on guitar. It happened. What if Sly was sneaked on there too?
