Prince during his time down in Miami was able to be a regular human, so was Sylvester Stallone, Will and Jada, Martin have a loft here, Eddie Murphy have a high-rise where his daughter was staying while dating pleasure p, John Travolta have a beach house and his main house near Tampa. It's more celebs in Miami than you all think. Wish we had a large Studio like Paramount here and Tyler Perry Studious. Miami isn't as bad as some think. I love Aventura area and used to have a high-rise apartment right across from Aventura Mall.

One of my guilty pleasures!

As a child, my family and I lived in Miami (Cutler Bay). Her sound meant as much to the Miami music scene as Prince's meant to Minneapolis. Miami radio was dominated by her music as well as the music of Madonna, Prince, Billy Ocean, Michael Jackson, etc in the time I lived there (1983-1989). The success of Gloria Estefan and the MSM always struck me as heavily regional because when we moved to Atlanta, there music was NEVER on the radio. No top 40 stations, no dance, nothing. Don't know if anyone else can vouch for that observation, but its what I experienced.

Favorite song is "Rythym is gonna get you" and I liked some her solo work to. She had a protege (Jon Secada) that blew up for a minute, then kind of vanished. Anyone know what happened to him?

I love them. I dont have the albums but their singles were great!
