He always pays respect to his influences and legends. I will always root for him because he is humble and he makes good pop music in the midst of this trashy generation, him and Adele is all we got.

Bruno Mars and Adele is not "all we got."

They're simply all YOU got. But, I root for him too. He doesn't offend me like he offends so many
other Orgers.

He's been really obssessed with Prince lately lol I'm sure he's always been but he never showed this much appreciation nor covered one of his songs live before (Except a small piece of Purple Rain solo, and a small piece of The Most Beautiful Girl in the World)...

Can you guys imagine the number of young fans from all over the world (Brazil, for instance) who are getting introduced to Prince for the first time via Bruno Mars... yes, they exist, a lot of them...

Someone dying really helps you to appreciate them more. Not saying that Bruno didn't already possess great respect and admiration for Prince (because he did/does) but P being gone certainly must have had an effect.

True. I'm sure the honor of being asked to do the tribute had an impact too. It must have been a little overwhelming as well as humbling for him.

IMO, he pays homage in the right way and I'm grateful. A lot of younglings will check Prince out because of Bruno.

I read where Bruno struggled with how to honor Prince in the right way... I'm sure he did the best job he could with the time limits and maybe the clothes choice wasn't the right one for some fans but I don't have a problem with it. I will add, also, that I saw Stokley Williams do the Prince vocals on some songs during The Revolution tour and I think he did it in just the right way with his own vocal style and fashion sense. I wouldn't have wanted any one else to take lead vocal on those songs...

Bruno's performance was good enough that I could forgive the fashion faux-pas. It wasn't that big of a deal to me either. biggrin

Stokely is a local and had the advantage of being in close proximity to those who helped create and participate in the Minneapolis Sound as he and Mint Condition evolved.
