Al Green a crack smoker?

I've become a friend with one band from Memphis and they are close to reverend Al Green.

They told me that although Al is A REVEREND he still

smokes crack on a daily basis.

they said he is very passionate about smoking

crack and sometimes its all he does for days.

And they said he curses a lot.some of the guys are former crack smokers.

can you believe it a reverend and crack smoker???

Al Green is a talented man and one of the most engaging live performers I have ever witnessed.
.
My father was a reverend and he constantly cheated on his wife, eventually killing himself. He routinely beat his children. He left a mountain of debt for his estranged wife upon his demise. People can basically buy the title online nowadays.
.
The jig is up, IMO. If you have independent thought it should be apparent. There is no hotline to the afterworld nor evidence it exists nor a cheat sheet for entry. Where in any holy book do they discourage smoking crack? They love that wine in the books though. Maybe everyone smokes crack while riding unicycles and jumping clouds there. These people (reverends) do not speak for or represent the divine - unless you want them to. That's your choice then to believe in them and to assign qualities to them. Some people believe virgins will greet them in the hereafter maybe some also believe a big ol crack rock is on the other side.
.
Take that dude Oldsteen he is on TV every week getting underprivileged, easily manipulated people to give him and his church money talking about how to be a good person whilst living in a mega mansion. The Vatican is literally a golden city.
.
I wish you the best in seeking someone to admire. Al Green, reverend or not, is a great performer but his personal life should be none of our business. People aren't perfect and if they say they are they're totes not. If you don't believe crack is against gods will who cares if anyone does anything with it. Not to say crack isn't a cheap, awful substance but those folks in the Middle East thousands of years ago sure didn't have access to it.

What does any of this have to do with Al smoking crack. Al has a cocaine problem back when he left secular music and he talked about it. I suspect he has fallen off the wagon.

Sounds like idle gossip from people who ain't his friends.

Yes, I can believe it. Nothing surprises me anymore. I mean, the man had a pot of hot grits thrown in his face. A title in front of one's name doesn't shield him or her from having the same problems that other "regular" folk experience. Reverand Al Green is a human being with many of flaws.

Agreed regarding so-called reverends and the hypocrisy of immoral preachers nowadays. I am reminded of a quote from True Detective: "If the only thing keeping a person decent is the expectation of divine reward, then brother, that person is a piece of shit"

Reminds me of the time someone told me they had a friend who heard that Prince wrote "Pop Life" because he was in a relationship with a man named Pop. Unless you got some actual facts then it's all bullshit and hearsay.

Ever seen an Al Green interview???
His conversations/mannerisms/behavior always seemed cocaine/crack
