Ironically, Janet sounded stronger on Scream than she has ever sounded, IMO. Therefore, I don't think there is any validity to this claim.

Michael is a much stronger vocalist and singer than Janet. Why would he need to lower her vocals on a song? Michael WANTED Janet to be on the song and Michael even agreed to bring in JANETs choregrapher to choreograph for the Scream video but these Janet stans don't care about that. Janet stans will always try to tear Michael down because they are threatened and jealous of his talent and success compared to Janet. This is another urban legend that cannot be backed by substantial receipts. The song sounds the same on all versions of the single.
