I wanted to start a thread like this one, I don't like her version of A Case Of You very much but recently I've heard Big Yellow Taxi ( & I think that the Counting Crow cover is very good) it's a great song and Both Sides Now is amazing

Your Crazy!!! Joni's A case of you is way better than Prince's or Diana Krall's for that matter! Nothing can touch the original!! Am I right someone agree with me here!!

My favs are

The Hissing Of Summer Lawns [jungle line]
Blue [last time I saw Richard/A case of You]
Hejira [coyote]
Mingus [god must be a boogie man/drycleaner from des moines]
Turbulent Indigo [The magdalen laundries]
Ladies Of The Canyon [for free]

I don't own all of her albums yet. Somehow I seem to have
halted at 8 discs. I'll probably starts listening to her
more again once it's summer and I can listen to her songs
outside in the garden.

I just bought her greatest hits. Prince covered 'A case of you'. And, he referenced 'Help Me' on 'The Ballad of Dorothy Parker.

According to the "Possesed" book, Prince attended one of her concerts (front row center) when he was just 10 years old! His eyes locked on hers the entire concert and Joni was surprised to see a young African American at her concerts since they were not that many.

Joni was also present at the "meeting" at Warners where
Prince introduced them to his "AroundTheWorldInADay" lp.

He had invited her to attend the listening session,
according to DMSR.

Later he also wrote her a song called "Emitional Bump"
or Pump, I can't recall. This was about 1986 or 1987..

Joni recorded this song? or was it just a song he wrote about her?

Turbulent Indigo is an amazing album. Unfortunately, it takes a huge number of listens before you get into it. But when you do...

'The Sire Of Sorrow' is perhaps my favourite Joni song.
