"That's What I Like" goes #1 on the Hot 100. After a tragic 12 week reign by Ed Sheeran's plastic dentist waiting room song "Shape of You"... and after Kendrick's victorious "Humble" going #1 last week, Bruno Mars finally scores his first #1 hit this era, with the lead single 24K Magic peaking at #4.

It experienced a long climb. Also worth noting that 24K Magic (the album) has remained in the top 10 since its release 22 weeks (almost 6 months) ago and is currently sitting at #7.

Yeah, it took the song 12 weeks to top the charts, but that's much better than a hot shot debut and a viral sensation then slowly fading into oblivion, Bruno's always been about longevity. The album still hasn't topped Billboard 200 yet sold much more than those who have in the last few months. Talk about consistency. Hopefully the video for Versace on the Floor is "global" enough, cause the singles haven't bren that successful in Europe/Oceania this era. That song is a strong candidate for song of the summer. A la "That's the Way Love Goes" which topped the charts in the summer of 1991.

I actually prefer that to the "debut at #1 then immediatetly disappear out of the Top 10/20/40/100" like many songs and albums have this decade. 24K is an old school-themed album achieving chart success in an old school way. It's kind of refreshing to see an album and song perform this way on the charts.

Not my kind of stuff, pretty boring. But that's most of popular music since 2000.... Just played that 'tragic' thing what topicstarter wrote was 12 weeks on top, jeez did we really sink that deep? That's tragic indeed. [Edited 5/2/17 8:11am]

This is #1 on the Hot 100 this week You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

even though i like the song but its really basic and just like they sat down at look at whats popping in the black culture and thats how they make a non black person hot now days. its nothing magical or so driven about these people now days. u look back on prince and michael jackson, tina turner and loada of other black artist it look alot to cross them over.do i blast bruno mars?? damn right i do
