I saw Mary J. Blige and Maxwell this past November when they came 2 Philly. I went mainly 2 see Mary J., and while I liked her performance, I thought Maxwell's performance was even better. He puts on a GREAT show! And before his set, guess what song played...Prince's "Kiss," probably as a tribute to Prince. And you better believe I was dancing the whole time while Kiss was playing. Saw him solo in summer last year. GREAT show. Yeah, he "blasted" Kiss in all his shows as tribute. His latest is actually my favorite though Ive read a lot of people feling tepid about it. Its deep and the music ....wow.
This Womans Work was a centerpiece, deservedly so. And that live Pretty Wings? oh man. "Climb in my fur."

Yes, both of those songs were gorgeous! My husband I were actually leaving when he performed Pretty Wings. It was late and I had 2 work the next day. But we stopped and listened 2 some of it. I liked how there were photos of the Black Lives Matter activists/events that appeared while he was performing This Woman's Work. I am LOVING this album of Maxwell right now. I can leave the videos alone--more vivid imagery is projected to me by the songs alone.
