Dj Quick feat James Debarge "The Divorce Song"

Who else dug this cut from Balance and Options? This song is so damn tight to me. The fact a song like this got no play, shows these fools today don't know shit! What other rapper could create something like this? Would love to see Quick do a Quicy Jones type album where he just shows off his production skilz with other folks doing the performing. I know this is just another DJ Quick props post but this brotha deserves it!

you got the Wrong Brother.it was James Debarge.El is on "Do What you Want" with Shock G on that Cut.I was Blasting this Song two Days ago.but "Well" with Raphael Saadiq&Mausenburg is the Cut on that Album IMHO with the Strign Section.I think the World of Quik.the Baddest Producer in Rap/Hip-HOP IMHO.Him&Dr.Dre are like the Shaq&Kobe of Rap Producers IMHO.

Sorry about that. I do know it's James but typed El. I always get my "debarges" mixed up. Hell at least I didn't type Bobby.

it's cool the vocals will get you everytime.even though Vocally My Choices of there Family in Rank are Bobby,El,Bunny,James&then Chico in terms of Range&Overall Presentation.James got alot of work with Quik as have El.it's kinda Sad that El can't get any other Juice from within the Industry but I give Quik Props for given it up to the Debarge Brothers.Great Suggestion BTW.

Do you have El's solo joint from the mid 90's? Some nice cuts on there.

I got all of His Albums except His Very first one which Sounded like a Bad 80's Vegas Lounge MJ Job.I think the Cat is Very Deep as a Composer.I still say that He wrote His Best Stuff with Debarge but made better Solo Albums IMHO but just didn't have the same type of Knock out songs.but I think EL is one of the most Underrated Artists EVER!

His problem is being tagged as a dude who sings for the "Bitches" I used to hear this a lot when I would bump Debarge or El's solo stuff. Funny cause I have heard "I Like It" sampled more than once by so-call street hip hip acts. And talking about underrated, Switch is too. I also agree, Bobby had the best pipes in the family. Too bad what happened to him. I would like to see the remaining family members to an album together and do it either under the name Switch or Debarge.

I get the feeling that producing will be his main focus now. With the best of album called "Da Finale" and a few things he said in that DVD is he done making DJ Quik albums? I for one hope not.

He tired of the Politics&Structure involved. He knows&feels things just aren't right.

are we long lost relatives? when i first heard that el hooked up with maurice white, i was thinking that it was going to be some mj and q type thang...then i saw the video for 'my heart belongs to you'...i was hooked and i could not wait for that joint to drop...when i heard it...wow...every single cut on that album was hot(especially another chance and special)...a perfect blend of the past, present , and future of soul music...el was waaay ahead of his time with 'in the storm'...nobody had that sound in '92...he genuinely had that marvin thing down waaay before the critics started comparing every neo-soul artist to him..too bad wb (once again) did not think so...they forced him to scrap 3/4 of his next album and made him work with babyface...
