Entertainers have to have people watch the people who taking care of their money. This guy even tried to smear Alanis by saying she had mental health and a drug problem. Do not be so quick to believe the media or the management.

Here's one of my two Alanis Morrisette stories (it's the good story):

A guy named Glenn Ballard co-wrote and produced the hits on "Jagged Little Pill". He's from Mississippi, and graduated from Ole Miss. When "Jagged Little Pill" exploded, the state of Mississippi decided to give him an award. The legislature made a big announcement. And then............

....someone from the Mississippi legislature actually listened to the lyrics. They were mortified! As you probably know, the songs he wrote for that album are VERY raunchy.

If I recall, they rescinded the award. It was a big poopshow!

That's crazy they took back the award. Glenn Ballad had been writing songs since the late 70s, and was a music vet by the time he wrote with Alanis.

He had written songs or prodcued songs for The Pointer Sisters, Teddy Pendergrass, Wilson Phillips, Michael Jackson etc..

Yeah, it was wild. But try to imagine those backwoods rednecks sitting down and reading the lyrics to "You Oughta Know". I bet they spit tobacco juice straight down their bib overalls!

Glenn Ballard must be responsible then for Jagged Little Pill being the only Alanis Morrisette album I ever liked.

Wow, Alanis, You oughta know better than that! Your manager had one hand in your pocket the whole time. Isn't it ironic that you hired this guy to take care of your finances? Ah well, you live, you learn.

"Hand In My Pocket"

I'm broke but I'm happy
I'm poor but I'm kind
I'm short but I'm healthy, yeah
I'm high but I'm grounded
I'm sane but I'm overwhelmed
I'm lost but I'm hopeful baby
What it all comes down to
Is that everything's gonna be fine fine fine
'cause I've got one hand in my pocket
And the other one is giving a high five
