Nightclubs closing etc ..so I was surfing couple of days back n all, n I find that lots of nightclubs in London have been closing over the last 10 years... um.. what's actually f'n GOING on (in the world in general)?? Are we all supposed to grow up now? Just wanted a general discussion on this. I mean - too much partying's not good, right?

I hate saying this and I can only speak for the U.S. but younger people just do not want to move away from their computers. The do not buy music, they do not go to clubs, malls, or seem to want to socially interact.

Well here in NYC for instance there are archaic rules rooted in discrimination and a sort of old world Puritanism. There are groups fighting these rules that came to place in the otherwise revered jazz age currently but they have made little impact as of now. . In the UK I was aware of an instance in a run of club closures relating to drug overdoses that caused the local government to really crack down on safety and inspections that often prove to cost more than the end haul and forced this place to stay closed a good while to raise funds and support reopening. They did eventually reopen. This happens to smaller places often and they cannot maintain upkeep to the law and have to shut down. if it was just a dream, call me a dreamer 2

The phone thing has gotten out of hand and there seems to be no reasonable solution. I attended a Natalie Merchant show where she became so distracted by the audiences phones that she collected one particular mans phone until the end of the show if it was just a dream, call me a dreamer 2
