Always enjoyed Reed when he appeared on the Glen Campbell Show. Though Mr. Reed appeared never to take himself too seriously, but he was good songwriter and a talented guitarist.

Don't know, but Johnny Cash, Kenny Rogers, & Dolly Parton had TV shows.

I used to watch the Dolly Parton show when I was a kid. She looked like a doll come to life. Remember her starting out on The Porter Wagner show, too... I think Glen Campbell had a show, too...

I don't know. Reed stayed on the Glen's show. Jerry was so quick witted and an extrovert, I think Reed made the rounds to everybodies varitey TV show. He was a regular guest on the Tonight Show.

I used to see Mel Tillis on Whataburger commercials in the 1980s. I didn't realize he was a singer at first. It's weird that he stutters heavily when talking, but not while singing.

Yup, I remember that. From what I heard, music is used as therapy for chronic stutterers like Mel Tillis. I think I remember him talking about how singing helped him on a talk show. He was able to speak better later in life. But, the stutter became part of his public personna.

Ole Mel looks pretty good. Wow, he's 84 years old now. Good for him! Hope I make it to that age.

Here's a new video of Lulu Roman who used to be on Hee Haw. It's shot at Mel's farm, but he is not in it. I wonder when she died her hair red, it wasn't like that a few years ago (around 2012 or 2013) at the Hee Haw reunion show.
