The Weeknd - "I Feel It Coming" featuring DAFT PUNK (Music Video OUT!)

Such a good song, so many 80s vibes, I like the music video a LOT (Reminds me of those early sci-fi VHS films back in the day). I also like Daft Punk's eerie appearance at the end, and how we can hear the beginning of starboy (A song I'm not particularly fond of..., but still).

He also wore an MJ jacket, and throughout the video he looks like he wants to rock a couple of moves but IS scared? or hesitated? because they might think "that's too MJ" or "no, leave it for Bruno". lol

Amazing song, this is gonna be a classic.

Its very simple, but it doesn't get boring even after months.

I'm only surprised this release the video so late.

Yeah, radio kept playing this for months now.

He was busy filming visuals for "Reminder", "False Alarm", "MANIA" and "Party Monster".

I really like his 'pulp-ish, VHS, Tarantino-ish" style this era. Back in 15 I saw him as a cheesy, lame ass "dark R&B" act who decided to make pop music overnight. Plus I despised that octopus haircut he had. But now he cool. He's a good singer, nice range, warm voice tone. Nice music too, but AWFUL performer lol lol

I cringed at him trying to dance like MJ. He can not dance. I notice now his people are trying to market him like a MJ clone, the directors copied the Billie Jean video shots. I don't mind when artists imitate their influences but for some reason when he tries to impersonate MJ, it comes off forced and awkward. Outside of those things, the video has an interesting concept.

I got some heavy OtW and Thriller-era MJ vibes from this track and video, which is a good thing biggrin

Didn't really know about The Weeknd before, have to check out some of his stuff now!

It's an amazing track, but can someone teach this man how to dance? You're a pop star, Weeknd, come on.

is this supposed to be a good song? lol I'm not feelin' it.To me it sounds like a typical,lightweight,MJ-inspired pop tune.I'd rather just listen to Off The Wall, lol

I hope he's paying the MJ estate royalties because he is biting Michael so hard. It's super catchy but I think he's reached the point where he has crossed over from homage to thievery. The video with his half-assed 'dancing' is weird. I can't with this one no no no!

If this were pharrell and Nile Rogers with daft punk, the reaction would be completely different.

Agree. He said he never really performed shows or a large audience and was extremely shy. Hope he gets better.

Agree man, definitely agree

The orgers really can't listen to a song without looking at the artist's name.

Oh man razz Been here years trying to cope up with the negativity of the orgers. And it's sad cause this is one of the few forums on the internet where you can find good taste, but it's gotten to a point where it doesn't even make common sense. I see people here hating on truly good, decent jams just because they don't like the artist or because the artist borrows too much from their favorite band or singer. Like, a good song is a good song, if it's catchy then it's even better. Art is subjective after all but you can't go on and call every contemporary pop song TRASH because of juvenile references and childish 'I'm too good to listen to this' attitude.

You see this here all the time, and as you say, a good song is a good song reagardless who is singing it.

i dunno, man...seems to me the taste on this forum is pretty limited.

it's like if prince was a fresh, home-baked chocolate chip cookie and this was the 'cookies: non fresh, home-baked chocolate chip' forum...you've got...

my favorite cookie is oreos...

my favorite cookie is oreos: double stuff...

my favorite cookie is golden oreos...

with the occasional...

my favorite cookie is chips ahoy...

or

my favorite cookie is nutter butter...

but watch how quickly the 'my favorite cookie is macaroons' or 'my favorite cookie is fresh, home baked peanut-butter' threads sink to the third page.

this jackson, that jackson, mariah, madonna, beyonce...yadda yadda. the weeknd sounds to me like oreos with a redesigned wrapper...a product, not a cookie. a bunch of corn syrup and msg, not a fistful of butter dipped in sugar.
