GEORGE MICHAEL'S CAUSE OF DEATH IS REVEALED

George Michael officially died of natural causes, a British coroner confirmed on Tuesday. The late pop icon (who passed away on Christmas Day last year) suffered from heart disease and a fatty liver.

“Inquiries into the death of George Michael have been concluded and the final post-mortem report received,” Darren Salter, senior coroner for Oxfordshire, said in a statement. “As there is a confirmed natural cause of death, being dilated cardiomyopathy with myocarditis and fatty liver, the investigation is being discontinued and there is no need for an inquest or any further enquiries. No further updates will be provided and the family requests the media and public respect their privacy.”

Michael died at the age of 53 at his home in Oxfordshire county. The initial autopsy failed to determined his cause of death. Since the tragic news, celebrities and fans alike have shown an outpouring of love for the legendary artist.

Back in January, James Corden told The Late Late Show audience a story about how his late friend helped to inspire the now-ubiquitous Carpool Karaoke. Gerard Way also paid tribute to Michael and Carrie Fisher in a heartfelt message on his website. At this year's GRAMMYs, Adele choked up while performing the singer's 1996 "Fastlove" single.
