I think you got things in the wrong order. She got pregnant and that ended the era. And ever since Michael's death she realized, there are far more important things in life than a career and what others think of her, which could change at any minute. She reached every goal she ever wanted to and it would be sad, if at 50 she still would be in that rat race to reach and be at the top. She's living life, as she should and with a new born child, she's got plenty of other things to do, than to care about a career in which she already achieved everything there is to achieve. She's set for life and her child is a billionaire heir. She never has to lift a finger again, if she doesn't feel like it. And to assume that she's depressed, because of her supposed lack of interest, really shows that you still got some things to learn. She just became a first time mother at 50 for christ sake. It's probably the greatest time in her life, apart from the lack of sleep due to a crying baby. wink

For real. I can't believe people think Janet is miserable. The only misery Janet is feeling right now is making too many trips to the damn bank. lol

Janet is doing what Janet wants right now not what the fans thinks she should do.

She seems to be happy being a mom and a wife right now. LET IT GO! She will let the fans know when she's ready for all else.

Exactly.

[Edited 3/9/17 1:36am]

Her lack of interest shows she doesn't care about her career and this lack of interest dates back before she got pregnant. This is important to her legacy because if she doesn't care, the GP will not care either. Why is it not plausible she may be sad or disinterested because of the way she has been treated throughout years after the Super Bowl incident?

Fans said she was happy after she married Wissam too but she didn't look happy in photos with him. Honestly? She looked more happier with Dupri despite the way her fans hate him. If she is indeed happy that is great but she didn't look happy in photos and her actions IMO shows there may be other things going on behind the scenes. Well of course her pregnancy ended the era, you know what I meant by the bolded. I still think it was odd that she was trying to get pregnant in the middle of a tour when she had a 7 year hiatus prior that she could have conceived during that period but that is neither here or there. I hope she is happy. Even with the new baby and all, I just get some feeling that she is not completly happy about other aspects of her life and career.

Why do you think Janet doesn't care about her career? Is she suffering from depression again? I seriously think she is depressed and not happy.

No. I just think that she realised how pointless popularity is. It's really not important. "The Great Forever" is about it. There are more important things in life that have much more sense. She was in the spotlight since the early age, I think that she had it enough for several lives and that she don't want to waste the second half of her life on that. Despite that, I don't even care about hits and commercial success that much. Artistry was always more important. Only artistry and impact can make you legendary, not your commercial success. Records are set to be broken, artistic achievement is there to make you immortal. Janet's legacy is cemented in many albums, not only hers.

LOL!. J-fans are funny...I think they believe in these stuff they create

That is something that has not been mentioned on Janet's career fall but I think that is probably what went down at Virgin records. They probably did want to drop her after that whole thing. She was being blacklisted from major channels and radio so I know the label was not happy about that as well as the bad PR. After 20 YO, she did switch labels. I personally think 20 YO was a throw away album made to fulfill contract obligations.

Like I said before and I will stand by these words like a broken record; Janet never had another groundbreaking album since The Velvet Rope.

Well she has 4 consecutive groundbreaking albums including The Velvet Rope. She had a great run but just like with every other artist, the magic (whether it be commercial, critical or both) runs out at some point. However, if Unbreakable is anything to go by, you can come close to recapturing the magic down the line.
