People Magazine is reporting that George Michael died of natural causes caused by, Dilated Cardiomyopathy & fatty liver.

Darren Salter, the senior coroner for Oxfordshire County, said Mr. Michael, 53, died at his home in Goring-on-Thames of natural causes: dilated cardiomyopathy with myocarditis and fatty liver.

Dilated cardiomyopathy develops when the heart’s ventricles enlarge and weaken, a process that usually starts in the left ventricle. The weakening of the heart’s chambers causes the heart muscle to work harder, and over time that reduces its ability to pump blood. Myocarditis is inflammation of the heart muscle.

Fat buildup in the liver can be caused by drinking alcohol, but there is also a common nonalcoholic variant that is related to being overweight or obese.

Mr. Salter’s statement did not specify the cause of the fat building in the liver.

Because the death was natural, “the investigation is being discontinued and there is no need for an inquest or any further enquiries,” Mr. Salter said in a statement. “No further updates will be provided and the family requests the media and public respect their privacy.”

Maybe now they'll release his body to his family, after 2+ months. It's sad what this family has been thru.

Girl, that's the truth! I can understand why they want to hold it, but for 2 months???? An autopsy takes a day or two. They take tissue and blood samples, examine it in full, and can figure out reasons and results after burial. Maybe it's something in British law that lets them keep it. I would hope it's not because he's famous and they're just trying to stick it to him one last time by doing this.

It reminds me, in a round about way, of how the Bahaman authorities wouldn't release Anna Nicole's body for a while after she died, just because of stupid red tape, etc. I had a friend die in the Bahamas, a similar heart condition to GM's, and it took the family over two weeks to get the body back to New York for burial.

My question is did he know that he had Heart Disease and Fatty liver Disease?...Heart Disease & Fatty liver can be reversed with Diet & Excercise..It does not happen over-night but if you commit yourself you can reverse both Diseases within months...The Liver will regenerate itself if the Host is doing his part...Booze is not a friend to an ailing Liver....

If the final Medical reports are legit then we have to wonder if George did not see the Doctor as often as he should have...Very wealthy Celebs are just as stubborn as Commoners...

I would think he had extensive tests done when he almost died from pneumonia...

Well we all know about Georges past drug history. I'm sick of Dr. Drew.

dr. drew is right, remember they tried to say elvis died of a heart attack which had some truth to it but it was strongly related to drugs. I don't see how you can call GM's death "natural".

Lest we forget: Dr. Drew was one of the first people to reject reports that Prince was suffering from the ''flu'' when his plane made an emergency landing.

That's because, as every other reporter on TV was saying, he heard the note about the shot Prince got, and that it had nothing to do with the flu.
