Perry co-wrote “Chained to the Rhythm” with Sia and Max Martin. It's available now for download and streaming at all the usual outlets. She's slated to perform it live at the Grammys.

She's calling it "Purposeful Pop" and her fans are calling it the "anthem of the revolution"...

I actually think it's good for a pop song. The lyrics have a political undertone about living in a bubble if you listen carefully.

I think Katy is an underrated artist. She writes catchy songs with lyrics that aren't dumb.

Everyone raves about Gaga but Katy's music actually has more depth.

Not a big Katy Perry fan, but like Glinda and MoSub, I don't think it's torture to listen to either. The input of the young Marley is all right too. Better than a Fetty Wap guest verse for sure.

I don't have any good reason why but I've always had an intense dislike of Katy Perry. As usual she hasn't let me down - this is utter shit. The only redeeming factor is that she's not in the video.

This is what happens when kids aren't learning about music in school or church anymore.
I'd rather be "old" and listen to old music than even be aware that this dreck exists.

This is dance music. Taylor Swift doesn't do dance. At least make accurate comparisons when bashing a song. This is playing it safe without being generic (Kelly Clarkson) and I appreciate it.

I just can't believe this is what passes as "protest music" these days.

We've come a long way from "There's something happening here, what it is ain't exactly clear".
