Better than MJ and Prince? WTF! What crack are these folks smoking? Utterly ridiculous.

Yea gurl this site is a joke! Look at how they are acting in this thread just because some don't agree with the article. smile But to be fair, half them are not even real Prince fans. Probably don't own a Prince album nor ever seen him in concert but they sure love fawning over Beyonce and bashing legends.

Look in the Grammy thread, that same font is arguing MJ did not write DSTYE just because someone posted a video in which Beyonce admits to stealing LMAO hahahahahaha even when receipts were posted they still persisted. But then that same font has the nerve to utter logic out its mouth but its always quick to harass someone who doesn't worship Beyonce.

Welcome to Beyonce.org biggrin

What's so anazing and groundbreaking about this video? confuse Beyoncé in a leotard with two female dancers prancing around.....is this supposed to be something bold and incredible?

There is nothing groundbreaking about the video. Any sane person can look at the video and see there is nothing groundbreaking or innovative about it and the point the other font was trying to make is that while Baby One More Time is not inventive, its revered more so as a modern a classic compared to Single Ladies.

Well besides stanning for Janet's RN 1814 on this thread, I still think I AM...Sasha Fierce (2008) is a better album than Lemonade. And I love this song biggrin

You mean this video that was just three people standing around and doing stolen choreography from Bob Fosse's troupe? What was so great about this video? She just does the same stupid thing over and over again and never takes any risks or anything. Beyonce is redundant and overrated.

It's a great video the same way smooth crimnal by mj is (see bandwagon by Fred Astaire you call that Mj stealing or you call it inspired) Its cool video because it's not edited it's just choreography and camera angles.

I think it was impactful culturally in the sense that many did try to mimick her dance moves, which is not unlike scores of girls dressing up in a schoolgirl outfit in 1999, but Spears' video actually impacted the music industry. Beyonce's did not.

You can make the same arguement for Sinead O'Connor's "Nothing Compares 2 U" video.

Is it technically groundbreaking?

No.

But it's simplicity is it's strenght.

I think "Single Ladies" belongs in this class.

It keeps your attention on those three girls for the whole video. There's no scenery. No props. No background. Yet it captured the zeitgiest.

But it was very influential though. There have been many many videos that have been influenced by that Sinread video.

Single Ladies is no where in this class of impact. The whole Black and White concept was already done before she did it.

Agree, Nobody doesn't even talk about Single Ladies anymore, people still talk about Hit Me Baby One More Time and Baby One More Time is a classic and a stronger song than Single Ladies.

Ya'll I don't like Beyonce, it is what it is biggrin She doesn't move me as well as her music. She is very overrated to me and nothing is going to change that. That video is not good, she doesn't emote when she sings. Yall can like her and I will stick with MJ, Stevie, Marvin, Prince, Whitney, Janet, etc. thumbs up!

I'll go a step backward and say that it was just a popular music video. "Single Ladies" was in no way innovative or groundbreaking and to describe it as a "phenomenom" is a gross overstatement if you ask me but many people loved the song, saw the video and liked it as well.

Unless one wants to argue that the song triggered the outbreak of neo-feminists we have then "Single Ladies" has changed music as much as "Gangnam Style".

I happened to find this clip from 0:48-2:48.

The success of the other "pop princesses" at the time came as a result of Spears' debut video, certainly much more than any performance she gave.

Still, Beyonce is a talented singer but there are better singers like Brandy for instance. We know she's not a songwriter but I will say she's one of the best perfomers mostly due to her stage presence. It's amusing that when people call her a great dancer, they do not point out that she doesn't have actual dance steps when dhse dances.

Just another article Beyonce's folks paid for. If the album was so impactful, why havent i heard a single song from it? It impacted her delusional fans, not anyone else. I dont hear people talking about it. I have never heard black women discussing it. People will not be talking about the album a few months from now. Like all of her other albums, it will be forgotten. Time magazine will contine to write fairytales as long as Beyonce pays them enough.

nod Nobody that I know talks about Lemonade,or Beyonce at all,for that matter smile Her camp and her fans have created this phony narrative, suggesting that the entire world is so "moved" and in awe of every piece of music that she puts out,LOL.

It is embarrasing lol
