that second album is a classic Zagora in 1986. 10 This is by far their best album

this is the record that made me a fan, I was 14 at the time & it made such an impact for us Brits seeing & hearing a uk band deliver a great r&b record

thanks to Hangin on a string, this is the record that put them on the map, Brit soul had been in the shadows for so long it was another record we were all proud of

3: Zagora

a masterpiece, played this record to death, it was around this time I started DJ'ing & working on pirate radio so needless to say this was a constant on my playlist

4: The Real Chuckeeboo

Zagora just gets the edge over Chuckeeboo, it was another record I used to play the hell out of & fit in perfectly with the late 80s sound of R&B

Loose Ends are & always will be my favourite UK band of all time

since So Where Are You wasnt a stateside project. I go in order of release. and then add Tighten Up Vol 1 in 4th slot.

ive been obsessively listening to them since I finally picked up So Where Are You at the record store off hand chance of seeing it.

I agree that Zagora is their best album. However the CD version is alot better than the vinyl version, better songs on it. Nuff said on that one just plenty to go around on there even the album tracks like Who Are you, You make Me Feel stand out with Nights Of Pleasure, Slow Down and Stay A Little While.

Starting to really like The Real Chukeeboo... the whole Side 1 & life can be played straight non stop. Then A Little Spice (some great jams and one classic)and So Where Are You would be last. It's nice but boring.

Nights of Pleasure beats man. Play that one loud in the car. Its funny because my mom had the album and didnt play this song. I had to find it for myself and was immersed in pop / r&b pleasure.

Good for you! I'm not sure how well it did on the charts and radio but I remember it being one of my favorites, just as much as those other big hits. They didn't crossover big like Soul II Soul did but I'd like to believe they helped pave the way for them a few years later.

I never realized the MPLS touches throughout this song until I rediscovered it yesterday. Very SOS Bandish their sound. The drum programming and synth stabs were giveaways for me.

Yes, they said it themselves Hanging On A String was from No One's Gonna Love You and just made a hit single out of that beat. However, they brought that reggae and british influence SOS didnt have.

Absolutely. "Look How Long" came out in 1990 after Jane and Steve "left" the group and Carl had total artistic control. It was a FABULOUS lp, leaning more in a hip-hop direction but retaining the classic Loose Ends feel througout. Not necessarily any big radio hits on it, but HIGHLY recommended if you are into Loose Ends. HIGHLY.

I'm biased because my girl wasnt singing on it anymore. Although i do like Don't Be A Fool, it sounds like Soul II Soul and used to think that was their next single.
