Siedah Garrett Is Back!

According 2 eurweb.com:

**Old schoolers, been feinin' for some Siedah Garrett? Good news! Garrett will deliver a new CD on the OmTown label. Titled Siedah!, the album is scheduled for release on May 20. Garrett, also a prolific songwriter, is probably best known for her 1984 classic with former Temptation Dennis Edwards on the classic "Don't Look Any Further."

-It doesn't say much but I suggest ya'll 2 check her official website.

I think she wrote a really good Donna Summer b-side "Tearin' Down The Walls" or was that someone else? I know it was a female Quincy Jones protege.

Wow,you have a great memory! Yes,Siedah wrote "Tearin Down The Walls" for Donna Summer. It was the B-side to her 1987 hit "Dinner With Gershwin".

Siedah Garrett is one of those talented singers/songwriters who never really achieved the massive success and recognition she deserved. She has written many songs for other artists ("Man In The Mirror" for Michael Jackson) and has done several impressive,chart-topping duets ("I Just Can't Stop Loving You" with Michael Jackson..."Don't Look Any Further" with Dennis Edwards..."The Places You Find Love" with Chaka Khan). But her own recordings didn't fare that well (remember her minor 1988 hit "K-I-S-S-I-N-G"?).She recorded an excellent single "Everchanging Times" in 1988,but it was quickly overshadowed by Aretha Franklin and Michael McDonald's cover version a year later.
