I'd think orgers would not be so biased to name Prince albums as their favorites in all of the last four decades that you have to specifically ask to exclude his releases from this survey. "Just like the sun, the Rainbow Children rise."

I know you say the last 5 decades because technically, this one isn't over yet but I'm going to include an album from the 2010's too because I have no doubt that within the next 3 years, it won't be beaten.
60's Sly and the Family Stone - Stand An easy one for me, I don't have much 60's music in my collection. 70's Bruce Springsteen - Born To Run One of my top 5 favourite albums of all time 80's Michael Jackson - Thriller Could easily have been Born in the USA but I didn't want to fill up the list with too much Springsteen. Besides, Thriller is a masterpiece. 90's D'Angelo - Brown Sugar Very important album in the life of young EmmaMcG, I'll leave it at that. 2000's Bruce Springsteen - Magic Radio Nowhere, Living In The Future etc. Great songs make for a great album. 2010's D'Angelo - Black Messiah The perfect follow up to Voodoo, D'Angelo brings class to the modern RnB scene. 1950s: Frankie Lee Sims - Lucy Mae Blues (Technically, this is a compilation that came out in 1970, but Frankie never actually released any albums while alive, only singles. All of the songs came out in the 1950s though. It was common in that era for some acts to have singles only contracts and some small labels only released 45s and/or 78s.) You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. Just realised there are no requests for a 2010's album, which is good as finding a 2000s album was hard, I generally stopped listening to new music around 1996 apart from Prince, MJ and a few other older artists still releasing. . I would have chosen Rebel Heart by Madonna, but really its like most post 1995 Madonna albums, very hit and miss. .
