I think simply because the songs arnt as catchy as his past material. Rihanna struggled to get a hit off anti than work caught on mostly because of drake and love on the brain and needed me are fairly new. Also bruno is not really a big top tier artist I always viewed him as a secondary name.

I agree the songs aren't as catchy or as strong as singles as the ones from Unorthodox Jukebox. Bruno isn't a top tier artist, he's just a step below the Adeles, the Taylors (blegh), Beyonces (blegh ×10) and Drakes but he's still up there. He seems to be the most popular male artist we have outside of Drake. There is The Weeknd though (blegh)...

Beyonce's nothing special. Everything she does musically has been done much better before her and is being done better alongside her. To that end, Bruno is a much better performer than she is. Never got what people see in Beyonce's performances; her moves aren't anything I haven't seen done just as well if not better in high school or before. Drake is overrated as hell himself but not even within the neighboring league of Beyonce. Views is an underwhelming album and the fact that it dominated the charts last year makes it worse. Maybe if more than 10% of the album was actual hip hop with him rapping and not singing lackluster pop&B for nearly 20 tracks straight then I would have enjoyed it but I still consider myself a fan of his. If You're Reading This It's Too Late was solid, it's just disappointing that what good we were given on there was barely present on Views. I don't get the love for Weeknd at all. His performances are laughable and his music isn't far off that mark. He's come off as a watered down, moody, Michael Jackson-lite since going mainstream.

I agree with everything except your view of beyonce performance wise I think shes given countless of great perfomances and no one excites a crowd like her she takes no prisoners on stage. So we'll just have to agree to disagree on that.

That's just it, "Uptown Funk" isn't even his song, it's Mark Ronson's but of course Bruno, being the singer gets the credit. I don't count "Uptown Funk" which is why I've been comparing 24K to Unorthodox Jukebox.

UJ wasn't "straight up pop" per se but its singles were much more accessible than what we've gotten or what can be taken from 24K. But considering that older, non-pop artists past their commercial peak score #1 albums like nothing and Bruno is a current act, I don't think it's as black and white as his music not being as accessible and more so having to do with a lack of a strong lead single but even moreso, a lack of promo.

asking: Why didn't Bad sell as much as Thriller?

There could be tons of reaons why 24k Magic didn't hit number one, but if you thought this board

I love Bruno, him and his music, yet i consider his past album as a better album than this one. And for me 24k is a better song than Uptown, but not as catchy.
