What non-Prince song makes you think of Prince when you listen to it? Wishful Thinking by China Crisis-- this song by the UK pop/rock band from Liverpool was a hit in the '80s when I was living in the Philippines. Makes me think of Prince when I listen to it now and it kinda reminds me of his song, Reflection. "I sat on the roof And watched the day go by I see the likeness in his smile and the way he stands Makes it all worthwhile And if I wish to stop it all And if I wish to comfort the fall It's just wishful thinking"  "Just like the sun, the Rainbow Children rise."

"Justify My Love" from Madonna. There's a line in her song, and her delivery that makes me think of "Positivity". And vice versa - I can hear Prince's song, and sing the next line in "Justify My Love". It's very specific, but one evokes the other. [Edited 1/31/17 14:20pm] Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking. |

It's such a guilty pleasure song for me listening to it knowing how much they tried (and succeeded) to emulate Prince.  "Just like the sun, the Rainbow Children rise."
