Dear Evan Hansen (Original Broadway Cast Recording)
Saw this album as one of the top new albums on iTunes this week and, surpringly, never heard of the musical before. Got some good songs on it-- from the songwriters of the La La Land movie-- and hope I get to see the Broadway musical live one day when it tours.

Venturing into the non-Prince music forum for thevfirst time. I have been listening to Kings of Leon's Come Around Sundown (The End, Pyro, Closer) and Only By The Night (Notion, Sex on Fire, Cold Desert, Revelry). Different. Non-funky. Non-Prince.

Know-It-All -Alessia Cara
Just finished listening to her debut album on Spotify and enjoyed it. I was impressed with the 20-year-old Canadian R&B singer and songwriter's performance this past weekend on Saturday Night Live with the songs,"Scars to Your Beautiful" and "River of Tears", that I decided to check out her album.

Stopped by Amoeba Music store in Hollywood this weekend and picked up some used CDs. Among them are CDs from one of my favorite movie composers, Ennio Morricone-- picked up his original scores for the films "The Mission", "Cinema Paradiso" and "Malena." Just finished listening to "The Mission" Original Soundtrack-- one of my all-time favorites. cool

Missed out on new releases from some of my favorite artists due to Prince's untimely death including Pet Shop Boys' "Super" album which was released April of last year. Thanx 2 Spotify, finally got around 2 listening 2 the full album and loved the infectious dance beats. Have it playing non-stop and finally ordered the album on CD from Amazon! Looking 4ward 2 Depeche Mode's new album next month! cool

The other day I listened 2 Voodoo by D'angelo cuz I've been in a mumbly funk razz mood, revisiting Black Messiah also (1000 Deaths = headbang n boogie). Both very good. Voodoo is a classic. 1 2 many songs up there (I can give or take One Mo'Gin altho I like it more now n in the grand scheme o the album), but I wouldn't change it 1 bit cool

lol I'm tempted to change the genre on my D'angelo tracks to "mumbly funk"

If you will, so will I

How does it compare to their 2000+ work. I used to make fun of The Petshop Boys, but got hooked several years ago when I sampled some of their less pop work. Great for a workout!

It's produced by Stuart Price-- who produced Madonna's Confessions On A Dance Floor (which I love)-- and with "Super", I was hooked right away-- my favorite tracks are "Happiness", "Twenty-something", "Inner Sanctum", "Pazzo" and "The Dictator Decides". The album is up there with "Yes" as my favorite post-2000 PSB releases.
