That Kind of Blue vs Bitches Brew, thread from a month or so ago, got me thinking about some Miles albums that i hadn't listened to in a while. And Tutu was one of them...And i still think it's a pretty funky album.

Vektor is a kick ass, technical, death/thrash/speed metal band from Arizona. They have three full length releases. And their latest album (Terminal Redux) was voted by many, as being the best metal album of 2016.

Rest in Peace Bettie Boo. See u soon.

I played it in full because I think the album is very good and well produced. Good songs, great vibe and cool production.

Nice stuff, you guys. I was on an Anderson .Paak kick last autumn. Was really digging his tunes. I also listened to his previous album Venice, and found a lot on there to enjoy as well. The funny thing is that I probably wouldn't have given Venice a chance if I had just listened to it as is, without getting into Anderson through Malibu first.

.

My personal favs on Malibu are 'Put Me Thru', 'Am I Wrong', 'The Season/Carry Me', and 'The Bird'.

On Yes Lawd!, I really like 'Suede', 'Link Up', 'Get Bigger', and 'Starlite'.

The last non-Prince I listened to was Whitney Houston's "I'm Your Baby Tonight." I listened to it from beginning to end because I had just bought it, and I bought it on CD.

RIP Whitney

Porcupine Tree - Tarquin's Seaweed Farm

Early tracks from the late-80s by "modern prog god" Steven Wilson. I listened to it because I've been on a "Steven Wilson kick" lately. I got into his stuff about a year ago and there's like 30-40 releases to wade through.

Tarquin's Seaweed Farm sounds like a bunch of home recordings, but I think it's a very charming collection of music. It's rather jokey, in overall. The album cover seems to have been done with a home printer from the time (!).

Funnily enough, it happens to have a cover of Prince's "The Cross" on it. I find the "production aesthetic" to be somewhat reminiscent of Prince's "sketchier" tracks from the time in general. He seems to have been an influence on Wilson.

Janets Unrraksble which I hadn't touched in about a year. It still sounds good with an old school vibe.

I like Malibu; though I prefer Yes Lawd! NxWorries remind me a bit of an R&B Madvillain, my favorite Stones Throw artist.

You listed 3 of my faves, "Kutless" is still my fave for now.

To hear what the buzz was about. I bought it on vinyl and it's a really good listen.

The other day I listened 2 Voodoo by D'angelo cuz I've been in a mumbly funk razz mood, revisiting Black Messiah also (1000 Deaths = headbang n boogie). Both very good. Voodoo is a classic. 1 2 many songs up there (I can give or take One Mo'Gin altho I like it more now n in the grand scheme o the album), but I wouldn't change it 1 bit cool

For all time I am with you, you are with me.

Terence Trent D'arby's Neither Fish Nor Flesh.

I've always loved it. I think if Around the World in a day and Parade got together and had a child it would be Neither Fish Nor Flesh. Parade is the father and the child looks more like it's father, but has a personality more like it's mother's.
