Nina Simone ...so I was in the mood for checking out some Old music the other day, and got to watching some videos on Youtube - My God, this woman plays the piano like no one I've ever SEEN before!! Anyone got any recommendations for stuff I should try out?? | |

yes, she is a great artist. After I saw the wonderful documentary about her life, "What Happened, Miss Simone?" on Netflix, I bought a double album "The Nina Simone Collection". It has well been worth the price. It has 40 songs, and even though it's a bit erratic, it has almost all of her masterpieces. Any star who was brave enough to release and sing in concert Mississippi Goddamn to white audiences in the 1960s should get some type of badge for her courage. |
