Niki & The Dove's Everybody's Heart Is Broken Now (2016) It had been a really long time since I had been that blown away by an album. It's just perfect, start to finish. Their name is an obvious homage to Prince and I suspect the song "Everybody Wants To Be You" is actually about Prince. Check that record out on YT or wherever it is you grab your music online: it's funky, it's incredibly melodic, it's super narrative pop, lyrics are super smart, and they're Prince fans. And don't be fooled by their first album, "Instinct", which is OK but nowhere near as mindblowing as "Everybody's Heart Is Broken Now", it's almost like 2 different bands. Really check out the last album first. I liked her last one too. Lost UB is a straight Steve Nicks clone but I like Stevie Nicks so I like this too. I recommend as well, music will get us thru this shit show peeps! |
