Dionne's is way better, sadly she's not associated with the song by the public.

Naked Eyes for me too.

And I also choose the Soft Cell cover of "Tainted Love" over the original.

Naked Eyes. Dionne has better songs to be associated with, like "Say A Little Prayer".

Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.

Come on - it's gotta be Dionne.
I mean that incredible voice.
But it's close - Naked Eyes version is pretty pretty pretty good.

I completely forgot about Naked Eyes, must have not heard in 20+ years
so the answer is Dionne, simple.

Has anyone tried unplugging the United States and plugging it back in?

i have 'the dionne warwick collection' & really think it's terrific & one of the best compilations i've ever heard, but that particular track isn't a big favourite of mine, and i prefer the naked eyes version.

i'd give the nod to soft cell as well.

What I love about the Naked Eyes cover is that it sounds very grand--and a bit Wall of Sound-ish. Like something that would be played in a ballroom at an 80s art school prom. I get a similar vibe from the Smiths' "Panic". It's not a coincidence that both songs have the same drum pattern I'm sure.

Naked Eyes and Soft Cell. Neither one of the originals would have ever burned their way into my brain like the covers did.
