This POOR album NEEDS a remix or two 2 get the fire goin' again. "Lake By The Ocean" was a nice kickoff, but after that, it kinda just petered out. 8 yrs. is TOO LONG between releases unless you're Kate Bush or Sade. Hungry? Just look in the mirror and get fed up.

for me, this ads absolutely nothing to the original, which is one of my favorit and true love lives on lollipops and crisps

I dig it. Like Whitechocolatebrutha mentioned this album needed a little spark. I was disappointed with the album as a whole. It's just stale in comparison to the first installment of his BlackSummersNight themed projects. I could only think of 3 to 4 songs that I really dig on this album. Don't laugh at my funk
This funk is a serious joint

He claims to have a growing stockpile of unreleased recorded compositions, 300-500 to be exact. If that's true, a double album in the near future would be welcomed.

It will not matter if it takes another 10 years. I could see Maxwell not having a record lable if he keeps this shit up.

Sade is smart. She makes them so hungry they scoop the album up and go to the concerts. She makes about fifty million and can go away for another ten years. Good gig. All you others say Hell Yea!!

Thanks, phunkdaddy! I was disappointed TOO. NOW, I don't even look forward to his next one. Sad. I used 2 love EVERYTHING Maxwell put out. He's just grown STALE. After 8 yrs., I would have expected SO MUCH MORE! Smh...a shame. Like Laura points out above, u "can't do music part-time." 8 yrs was WAY TOO LONG for a follow-up; esPECIALLY a followup that's part of a trilogy! I don't GET IT. And that misused apostrophe in the title STILL pisses me off 2 no end! UGH!!! Much love, guyz! Happy Holidays! [Edited 1/1/17 16:50pm] Hungry? Just look in the mirror and get fed up.

Gonna make an attempt to listen to his album . I've only heard 2 tracks(so far) I've always liked Max's first singles with the exception of Luxury Cococure off the Embrya album and Lake By the Ocean. It would have made more sense to have already had the trilogy albums complete. The fact they are so far apart leads one the believe it was not or is not a completed as I think we were led to believe.

meh. was this necessary? the album is good but not one of my favorites. in light of this yr maybe we should just be glad he is still alive.

My thoughts exactly. I was thinking of Maxwell while reading the George Michael thread, because Maxwell is my only longtime favorite artist left now.

I called Maxwell out a couple of years back for his pace. Every artist should be allowed to create at their own leisure, but when U commit to 3 years of back to back trilogy releases that were SUPPOSED to start in 07 and don't even release the FIRST one until 09.... followed by hints of part 2 following shortly, only to have it take 7 years... well. "Trilogy, my ass" was the phrase that ticked him off. 2 which he replied, "plans changed."
I love the dude... but think he takes his fan base for granted. I Love U, But I Don't Trust U Anymore...

We are glad he is alive but he needs to learn how to seize the time that he has and be productive. I do not expect anyone to ever put out a cd a year like Prince but decades in between projects is carreer killing. Maxwell is turning into the Greatest thing that almost happened and he did it to himself.

I don't think either one of these guys want to be that big, giant superstar. They seem to rather enjoy life outside of the spotlight. I don't blame them.

Record sales are at an all time low disappearing for a decade is absurd and I would really be surprised if Maxwell does not get dropped by Sony. You cannot do music part time.

Both have adopted Stevie Wonder's habit to delay projects for years. At some point, fans stop caring about new music from them.

D'Angelo and Maxwell can't wash Stevie's shorts. Stevie had one of the best 10 year runs in the history of music. If he never puts a new record fine these two came out of the box being lazy.

Purchsed this cd......played it once and will NEVER listen to it again. On a scale of 1 to 10 it was a 1. FOOLS multiply when WISE Men & Women are silent.

If I had to pick a favorite album, it would be Embrya, but I pretty much enjoy his albums equally, including Summers. Maxwell is the R&B artist that is the most consistent for me, even if he takes forever.

I listened to it once on google play. It didn't make much of an impression. I did, however, cop the vinyl release of Urban Hang Suite and BLACKsummers'night which are glorius. I need to that album another listen before I write it off completely.
