Katy Perry is "Chained to The Rhythm" (New Music)

02/2017

Perry co-wrote “Chained to the Rhythm” with Sia and Max Martin. It's available now for download and streaming at all the usual outlets. She's slated to perform it live at the Grammys.

Her fans actually believe this is a disco song lol lol

Awful songwriting, dull lyrics, sleep-inducing voice...

I'd rather bathe in my own vomit than listen to this song again...

There's something about your comments that makes me think you're not a big fan of this song but I can't quite put my finger on what it is...

I actually think it's good for a pop song. The lyrics have a political undertone about living in a bubble if you listen carefully.

I think Katy is an underrated artist. She writes catchy songs with lyrics that aren't dumb.

Everyone raves about Gaga but Katy's music actually has more depth.

You don't even have to listen carefully because she beats you over the head with it. lol

Song's not as bad as most on here are saying. That said, it isn't good either and is your cookie cutter Katy Perry song.

Ironically, this sounds like a Taylor Swift song. Katy even sounds like Taylor in the chorus.

Not a big Katy Perry fan, but like Glinda and MoSub, I don't think it's torture to listen to either. The input of the young Marley is all right too. Better than a Fetty Wap guest verse for sure.

I don't want your rhythm without your rhyme

Katy Perry does a Taylor Swift song lmfao

I like how it is pepperered with big dictionary words with several syllables like ornaments and utopia. It makes her sound sincere and intelligent which is what makes her an enduring modern singer is you know the opposite is true.

Someone should tie cinder blocks to that chain and toss her and her rhythm overboard.

I don't have any good reason why but I've always had an intense dislike of Katy Perry. As usual she hasn't let me down - this is utter shit. The only redeeming factor is that she's not in the video.

This is what happens when kids aren't learning about music in school or church anymore.
I'd rather be "old" and listen to old music than even be aware that this dreck exists.

This is dance music. Taylor Swift doesn't do dance. At least make accurate comparisons when bashing a song. This is playing it safe without being generic (Kelly Clarkson) and I appreciate it.

If this is dance music I am Mayor McCheese. It's sad that these overpaid flesh bags are celebrated for copying each other. Some people think their shit smells good.

You're splitting hairs by saying this; Taylor doesn't have to make dance music for this comparison to work. One act can still sound like another even if their music isn't quite the same. We can reword that statement, however...

"Taylor's music sounds like this song" or to be more broad and accurate, "The music Taylor makes now sounds like Katy's".

Regardless of how it's stated, it shows how generic Taylor's music is and by proxy, Katy's music as well.

That's not saying much lol

It's cool that you like it though.

However, what we need to talk about is that lame performance from last night.

I just can't believe this is what passes as "protest music" these days.

We've come a long way from "There's something happening here, what it is ain't exactly clear".

Max Martin is the anti-George Martin, basically. He makes redundancy dancey and at such a rapid, vapid pace. Tracks should be labeled ala Mark Ronson. Max Martin feat. Katy Perry and Max Martin fest. Taylor Swift is more appropriate and easier to kinda see thru.
