Wow, some of you must have a lot of money to be able to attend so many concerts. My only concert was Prince on March 25th. It pains me to know I'll never see him perform again. It was a magical night.

^Yeah, the only pop concert I attended this year was a Dutch singer called Stephanie Struijk, which was sadly quite a disappointing show; she performed songs from her new Dutch language album (before, she exclusively sang in English), and all the songs were lyrically quite poor in my opinion. I had hoped for more substance to the songs, and for more artistic growth in Stephanie, as she does have a gorgeous voice.

.

Other than that, I've only attended classical concerts, from local and regional musicians and students. Next year, I have a JoJo concert lined up in January though (JoJo from 'Leave [Get Out]', not JoJo from Jodeci)! Really looking forward to that, and it's an impetus for me to maybe catch more shows.

I really didn't have a lot of money this year. In fact, I spent most of this year in debt.

With that said, I thinkwe're at a point in history where we are really having our last opportunities to see a lot of legends live, so I intend to do my best to take those opportunities. Plus, being in Australia only makes those circumstances more specific.

Also, it makes me happy. I don't really go out and party, so concerts are my happy place. Hell, I went to Maxwell as sick as a dog and left feeling 100% better!

Always cry 4 love, never cry 4 pain.

November 7 - Mary J. Blige & Maxwell at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, PA - I enjoyed myself. It was a very nice concert.

Adverts for the Sign O' the Times tour said, "if you see only one concert this year..." so I think you're doing alright, Empress. I'd have loved to see the Piano & Mic tour. I also saw only one concert this year, not because of money, but because I've already seen almost everybody I wanted to see. And yes, it's getting more and more expensive. I saw Bob Dylan in Amsterdam in 2013 for € 65 (he was great) and next year he is coming back to the same hall charging € 80-120. confused
My one concert this year was George Clinton, still funking hard for three hours for a very affordable € 30.

Didn't see concerts since 2011 when I started kicking off of Prince. (way too many hits...)

So I saw Candy Dulfer at the Paradiso 23-dec-2016.
