BEYONCE..without any shadow of doubt. I've seen Britney dancing now and way back when she was still young, and I think Beyonce dances better than Britney did when she was in her prime. Kind of strange how they both started out at around the same time, and they're both at completely different places in their career. I feel like even though Britney can still put out a hot single, to me she seems like the kind of artist that has had their prime and is living off their old legacy. Wheras Beyonce is at a bigger peak now than she ever has before.

Beyonce's execution and conviction wins hands down but her technique is not on Britney's level.

Even though I'm not necessarily a fan of the songs, I thought that the dancing in "Boys" and "Me Against the Music" from the video were straight up descendants from Janet Jackson.

I guess you'd have to put Janet Jackson in that category also since quite a few female pop stars tried to emulate her in that regard.

Mj was well reheasred all the time but he didnt come off as that or rigid his dancing looks very sporatic and fluid and beautiful he's really one of the greatest dancers to to ever live period. Prince? He danced but prince clearly wasnt a dancer in that way, he said as much himself.

I don't know. I think if you compared the single best dancing performance from Beyonce and Britney Spears it would be very close and could go either way. It's not like either of them are Janet Jackson.

It's hard to top Britney in her prime. As a technical dancer, she was nearly flawless.

Her new album is an ace pop album.

I couldn't care less about formal training. If a performer can't inhabit their craft (thanks for the word, Doorkeeper), they only ever come of as a student at best of those who do.

Britney Spears, hands down.

Britney was a far better dancer in her prime than Beyonce could ever dream. Britney was actually trained and was more technical. Beyonce has no technique and can't dance at all. Her back up dancers out dance her but because she puts energy into her movements its okay for production purposes. Neither are great dancers but Britney is better out of the two.

Agree, J Lo blows them both out of the water. She is a natural dancer. She started out as a Back up dancer for Janet so go figure. I say she is right behind Janet in terms of skill and technique.

I didn't realize J Lo could still move so good, she's obviously better than the two for dance.

She was a dancer by trade its her strong suit. But her only suit really not much of a singer but niether was brittany.

Although I'm not a fan, I'd say Beyonce, by far.

I agree with everbody that Jennifer Lopez is simply a more capable dancer than either Beyonce or Britney Spears.

But one thing I thought is interesting is that, between Beyonce and Spears, some think that one is a far superior dancer than the other and vice versa. Any reason why that's the case?
