What happened to the SOUL TRAIN reruns?

I would say around a good 8-9 years, various stations would run Classic Soul Train episodes. Right after the original series was cancled, it came right back on in classic form.

And it ran on your local stations. Also WGN picked it up. Than Centric/BET and BounceTV and Aspire also aired it.

Than one day it was gone. Without a trace. I really lookef forward to those episodes because I wasn't around when they originally aired.

Please come back.

You can find some episodes on Youtube. But, I do miss seeing them on TV. Reminds me of when I was a kid...

But it already aired on BET. Are they waiting for the Soul Train Awards next weekend to bring it out.

Watch it now. I was(am) a fan of both Hee Haw and Soul Train...That's just how i roll. lol

Anyway, i really miss watching those older TV shows. My favorites were Twilight Zone, Soul Train, and Saturday Night Live. And if i remember correctly, in addition to SNL, both Soul Train and Twilight Zone aired on a Saturday. I haven't had a TV in years but i would consider getting one, and getting Cable, to be able to watch some really old episodes of Soul Train( along with some other older TV shows).

Rest in Peace Bettie Boo. See u soon.

I got a soul train question.

Does anyone know where I can find footage of a young band called Cash singing a song called "I Love You Still"? I read in the Afterschool Special Numero liner notes that they sung this song on Soul Train but I see no footage anywhere of it.

A lot of performance have not popped up in youtube yet but pretty sure collectors have them.

Randy Jacksons of the Jacksons performed a solo single in 1978 that has never popped up. I been looking everywhere for that.

RFD-TV show Hee Haw reruns.

I'd be more interested in someone rerunning SOUL! or Black Omnibus from PBS or even Shindig & Where The Action Is. I remember Bounce showing like 8 episodes of Soul Train everyday and would show the same ones over and over and not show other episodes. Bounce is still showing Richard Pryor movies, figured the tapes would have worn out by now. lol

Centric showed better episodes.
Also, what about that short lived James Brown series?
Or hell, even bring Showtime at the Apollo back.
What about the Beat from the mid 60s.

All of the episodes of that have been released on official DVDs, not bootleg. So at least that can be found. I don't think there's enough episodes of that for syndicated reruns. On Antenna TV, they show episodes of The Ropers and Three's A Crowd (neither of which lasted that long) with the Three's Company reruns. So maybe someone can run short lived music shows in a cycle. The Jacksons variety show can be in the cycle too. Or maybe they can be shown only on the weekends so the episodes don't run out quickly

Chappelle Show aired less than 30 episodes and it's been in syndicated on various stations.

More than likely that show is more well known than The!!!Beat. Most of the acts on The!!!Beat are southern soul acts, not really mainstream known or even known to a modern R&B audience. The host Hoss Allen is as not remembered today like Dick Clark or Don Cornelius is. You can watch the show here.

I wish they would air ALL of the episodes. I've been dying to see the lost 1973 episode featuring the original Rufus & Chaka line-up. To my knowledge, it's the first and only time the original band appeared on a television show.

My bad it wasn't an episode. Just a performance after BET showed the Get On Up Movie.

Though it does look like BET will air Soul Train in the future. Yesterday theu had a special that showed Christmas performances from Luther, Chaka Khan, Babyface, BIIM and others. And next week a New Edition Soul Train special.
