Couple of great second-tier later offerings not yet mentioned are Urban Dancefloor Guerillas, Blacktronic Science and Straight Outta P University. Hard to pick, but fave albums from some of the main acts are ..... One Nation Under a Groove, Mothership Connection, Ahh .... The Name Is Bootsy, Baby! and TAPOAFOM. Bonus pick: The Mothership Connection Tour rehearsal album Newberg Sessions. If you've got funk, you've got style.

SoulAlive said: Do any of you guys have this massive 4-CD LIVE set? Released in 1993,I believe, and containing a ton of live performances!
I have. I especially like CD 3 & 4, because they remind me of some of the concerts I saw in those years. And I luvvv Belita Woods!

SoulAlive said: "Agony Of Defeet" by Parliament (1980) IMHO, A jam for sure, and the 12 incher really rolls. But weakest track on the album.

UDG may be the most well-produced, slickest album in all of P-Funkdom.

learning that bassline one of the nastiest basslines ever....Bootsy's timing and feel was insane on that one...

I think this is the quintessential P-funk album. If I knew someone who wanted to get into their music, this is the first album I would recommend to them....a perfect place to start.

The extended 12-inch versions of Pumpin It Up (really a remix with older P-Funk snippets added) and Generator Pop are great too. If you've got funk, you've got style.

I had wanted it but could not justify the investment since it came out but was finally able to cop a copy during a trip to Amoeba Records in Hollywood, CA, in September. This set exceeded my expectations, especially the DVD. The band sounds great and it is of such high quality and in a casual, rehearsal-like setting. Funktastic! If you've got funk, you've got style.
