This is my favorite one. Hard to choose. I remember during the winter of this year me and my cousins were snowed in for 3 days at my grandmother's. No school. We would play cards and funk to this album all day. They started to lose steam on the Gloryhallastupid album. I actually like that album It's not as strong as some of the others, but it does contain at least two excellent jams: "Theme From The Black Hole" and "The Big Bang Theory"

My mom bought me the Funkentelechy album. I used to wear the needle out on Bopgun and Flashlight. Those are solid jams!I also love the song "Funkentelechy"....one of my favorite jams by them! ...."where'd you get your funk from?" I believe that George Clinton has said that this is his favorite album

The most outstanding P-Funk art I've seen is in this art exhibit in Japan. Osaka or Tokyo I do not know. George is over there now for a Billboard performance. His wife Carlon just did a periscope from the exhibit. There are some pieces in the collection that will stop your heart, just unbelievable. They are going from anywhere between 50-125,000$. Without a doubt the Japaneese peoples are planet earths deepest funkateers. That being said my all time fave Funkadelic song is Undisco Kidd. Get you some headphones and try to follow what Bernie is doing on this song. My fave Parliament is Runpofsteelskin. I think there are 3 distinct eras of Funkadelic. Each separated by a transitional album. The first 3 albums go together. Then America Eats Its Young ushers in the new era from Slop thru Tales. Major label change ushered in by Jollies and crystallized by One Nation thru Electric Spanking.

It was in the K- Mart for 4.99, to this day I think she regrets it. To her GC is and I quote, "a fool that has figured out how to make money".

I've got the complete Funkadelic recordings box set 76-81 and 'Tear The Roof Off Live' by Parliament. Some George solo stuff too. I love what I've got. Essential as any Prince, JB, MJ, Stevie and Sly to me.

I remember my mom bought me Graham Central Station's Mirror album out of there one year. It was cool the album cover had some film on the front that resembled foil so you could see the reflection of yourself. That brings back memories man being able to go to K-Mart for vinyl. K-Marts are starting to become a thing of the past as many of them are closing. Hell I remember when my mom would go to the local dime store and buy 45's. Don't laugh at my funk

I don't have the 80's and beyond albums (i'm working on it) but from the classic eras its Funkentelechy Vs. the Placebo Syndrome and Maggot Brain for me. The first Horny Horns album is surprisingly strong as well.

Record Bar was the other spot, then Turtles. I bought some funk in Sears too. Got the Bootsy?Player Of The Year thang in there a couple months after Funkentelechy. Man I was piecing the Funk Mob together bit by bit back in them days. Putting the puzzle together. By the time One Nation came out I was saying dang, all these guys are in the same band.

To me this is it right here. The finest hour of the funk. He says he was trying to do a straight record, getting all the acid out.

You just hit another home run with that bruh. I forgot all about Record Bar. That was my dad's spot when I was a kid. I used to roll with him. He used to buy his Wilson Pickett, Sly Stone, and Isaac Hayes. I remember I used to wait for him to go to work so I could sneak in the Living Room and play Shaft. I used to know that album backwards and forwards. Back on topic my baptism to the P-Funk and probably most people was the Mothership Connection album. My neighbor down the street older brother had the album and I begged him to make me a cassette tape of it. Parliament/Funkadelic and Bootsy had become such a phenomenon for the brothers every other houshehold in the neighborhood had it. You could walk down the street and hear someone playing it in the house. We used to shoot ball in the backyard in the neighborhood anywhere and it would be a crime if you had a jam box and you weren't playing any PFunk. Don't laugh at my funk

Interestingly,Prince attended this 1983 show and when it was over,he went into the studio and composed "Erotic City".This is considered one of the greatest P Funk shows ever!

I agree."Party People" is a mediocre groove in search of a hook. It's probably the weakest track on that album and it goes on forever. Not sure why their record company released it as the first single

Y'all done stepped off deep in it now. Isn't that second pic just the back cover of the Wax Poetics? Now there is a Japaneese issue of it with GC riding the dolphins on the cover.
As for that 4 disc live set, there are 3 separate versions of it (domestic, UK-the one pictured, and Japaneese)and you have to get all 3 for all the tracks. They've got some overlap. I've both both the US & UK but never got the Japan. I saw it once for 100 dollars just as it was coming out and am kicking myself over and over since then. Mugs need to go back and revisit the whole Trombipulation album and the song Party People. Get you some headphones out and get up under the groove on New Doo Review. The whole point of Party People is to sound like it's off in a black hole for real. Sparse. But to this day the song is one of Garry Shider's finest vocal joints. Like a lot their stuff there is more going on in that song than meets the ear upon first listen. [Edited 12/2/16 15:33pm] [Edited 12/2/16 15:35pm]
