I tried to post this on previous message threads, but I could not get through. I saw Stevie last night, and, as I knew, the tears came when she sang "Stand Back." After she finished, she told the story of how she wrote the song based upon"Little Red Corvette." Prince came to the studio and played on the track, and got co-songwriting credit. But the big emotional moment came when she sang "White Wing Dove." The backdrop was various photos of Prince superimposed on animated scenes, with a lot of white doves ("When Doves Cry?"). The whole song through. That was so emotional. The crowd really responded, too.

saw that last wkend. the crowd wasn't so interested in the prince bit. the pretenders opened for her and were really good. i was never much a fan and always thought 'if anyone falls' sounded more like a prince song than 'stand back' ever did.

The Pretenders were terrific last night. Sorry I had the song name listed incorrectly. It was "Edge of Seventeen." Last night, the crowd was louder for EOS. Of course, by then, they were drunker, too.
